EJ DiMera was “murdered” in 2014, but Days of Our Lives fans have since learned the character is alive and well.
Initially, Sami (Alison Sweeney) began receiving messages that led her to believe her husband had survived his tragic shooting, although she was never able to track him down.
Then, in 2017, Kristen (Eileen Davidson) muttered to herself that EJ was indeed out there and very much alive. Talk about EJ has since stopped, but maybe it shouldn’t have.

If James Scott, who created the character, can’t return you’d welcome a new actor in the role. EJ is a pivotal member of the DiMera family and he’s been sorely missed.

Meanwhile, 42% of fans do not want to see an EJ recast under any circumstances. The character has been “dead” for over three years, and you think he should stay that way.
Sami and her kids have moved on. However, if the character were to resurface, a newbie actor wouldn’t cut it in the role. You’d only accept one person playing EJ, and that’s the incomparable James Scott.
