Sarah, Xander, and Gwen: The Wild Wily Triangle Days of our Lives Needs

Xander Cook hit rock bottom when “Sarah Horton” –- actually a masked Kristen DiMera – dumped him on their wedding day. After a drunken binge and a fling with Nicole Walker Brady, he ended in Gwen Rizczech’s unlikely arms, which is exactly where he should stay. That is until Sarah resurfaces and Days of our Lives embarks on the wild wily triangle the show totally needs.

Days of our Lives: A Coveted Man

Just imagine Xander, the Kiriakis black sheep and longtime Salem pariah, being the coveted object of two women’s affections. It’s a position he’s never been in before, let alone ever dreamed possible.

To suddenly be living the romantic high life, could bring out a whole new side in him. Viewers could see a more confident self-assured Xander, the kind of guy who struts around town like a peacock. It would be a new fun take on the character, and one actor Paul Telfer would surely thrive in.

DAYS Pretty Little Schemer

While Xander’s enjoying his reign as a man in demand, Gwen (Emily O’Brien) would likely be plotting and scheming to keep him. Days of our Lives viewers know she can be ruthless and play dirty. Think back to how hard she fought to hold onto Jake DiMera (Brandon Barash), when Gabi Hernandez DiMera (Camila Banus) was eyeing him, or how she wheeled and dealed to trap Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn), making Abigail Deveraux DiMera (Marci Miller) absolutely miserable.

If her feelings for Xander are more intense, there’s no telling how far Gwen would go to hold onto him. Her tactics could even turn lethal if she perceives Sarah as a genuine threat to the happiness she’s finally found. Sarah will have to beware of her new nemesis at every turn and keep her guard up 24/7.

DOOL: Sweet Thing, Wild Thing

Of course, DAYS viewers shouldn’t count Sarah (Linsey Godfrey) out, just because she’s kind and sweet. She can be as fierce as a pit bull when she’s fighting for something. Plus, she’s proven to be wild and unpredictable, if she’s pushed to extremes. You can bet she’ll give as good as she gets from Gwen if they end up vying for Xander, but with a subtlety and softness that Gwen might not even see coming.

Sarah also has a huge ace up her sleeve. She’s the first woman Xander ever truly loved, so she’ll always hold a special place in his heart. She also had a remarkable influence on him, helping him become a better man and segue into a respectable Salem citizen. It’s a life Xander came to love, and he might not be able to resist the chance to get that and his beloved Sarah back.
