Life in Salem has a funny way of making people focus on survival mode. Somebody’s always getting kidnapped, resurrected, framed, possessed, divorced, secretly married, or discovering their family tree folded back onto itself like cursed origami. So when Days of Our Lives star Sal Stowers showed up on social media this week talking about gratitude instead of Salem chaos, it caught people off guard in a good way.

Key Takeaways

  • Sal Stowers shared a heartfelt message about gratitude and appreciating life’s simple things.
  • She reflected on a co-worker’s story about kindness during a difficult time.
  • Stowers encouraged fans to focus less on negativity and more on everyday blessings.
  • Fans praised her message about gratitude, kindness, and perspective.

She Shared a Simple Reminder That Hit Home

On Instagram, Stowers (Lani) shared a video explaining, “I was just speaking with a co-worker and he was sharing a story with me about a very difficult time in his life that his wife and him had and how during that time a friend was just so nice and kind to them.” She said that hearing the story made her stop and reflect because, “for the first time in his life, he really felt gratitude and what it meant.”

From there, she admitted, “I started to reflect on that,” adding that she feels people, herself included, “sometimes can forget the simple things in life.” She continued by saying people become “so focused on ourselves and what’s going wrong, what’ not going right… just so ‘me’ focused that we forget the simplest things in life.” Stowers then listed those small everyday blessings one by one, reminding viewers, “You woke up this morning, you have breath in your lungs, your heart is beating, you can smell, you can taste, you can see, you have loved ones.”

She added, “There’s always so much good around us. And sometimes we can only see the bad,” before encouraging fans to “take time to give thanks” because “our life, our world is just so vast and just constantly moving” that people “forget those little simple things.”

Her Message Fits Perfectly

Fans immediately connected with it. One follower wrote, “Such great advice, I needed to hear that today!🥰” while another commented, “We all need to focus on kindness and gratitude to make our world better for everyone.” Somebody else summed up the entire vibe perfectly with, “Imagine if every single one of us would practice this on the daily.”

The post also lines up with the direction Stowers has been leaning toward outside Salem recently. Along with returning more regularly as Lani, she has been focusing heavily on positivity, personal growth, and her “Women to Women” series centered around encouragement, authenticity, and self-worth. There has been a noticeable shift toward using her platform for connection instead of just promotion.

She was not trying to sound profound. If anything, it sounded like she was reminding herself as much as anybody watching. Life moves fast. People get distracted. Everybody spirals sometimes. And somewhere inside all that noise, it becomes weirdly easy to forget that simply being alive is already a pretty significant thing.
