Will the Return of Will Ruin Paul and Sonny’s Days of Our Lives (DOOL)?

On Days of Our Lives (DOOL), Sonny and Paul are following in the footsteps of numerous soap opera supercouples.

They had a secret past, then they slowly found their way back to each other, followed by embarking on the soapiest supercouple trope of all — they’ve teamed up to hunt criminals in exotic locations!

Deimos (Vincent Irizarry) has Nicole (Arianne Zucker) and baby Holly stashed away on a remote Greek island, and it’s Paul and Sonny (Paulson) to the rescue!

Who’s getting flashbacks to Bo (Peter Reckell) and Hope (Kristian Alfonso), “Patch” (Stephen Nichols) and Kayla (Mary Beth Evans), and John (Drake Hogysten) and Marlena (Deidre Hall)?

You are not a real rootable pair in Salem until you’ve brought bad guys to justice, preferably on location (but, hey, it’s not the 1980s, anymore, budgets are tighter).

So the future seems bright for Paul and Sonny. But will Will’s (Chandler Massey) return ruin everything?

Zombie City
It’s not like the good people of Salem lack experience in dealing with a spouse coming back from the dead. Every single supercouple member mentioned above has done it.

And, most recently, Chad (Billy Flynn) had to deal with Abigail (Marci Miller) doing it. And that didn’t end well. Chad wanted to reconcile with Abigail, but she decided he was in love with Gabi (Camilla Banus) and left him.

Pick a Guy
Will Sonny (Freddie Smith) follow in Chad’s footsteps and make a beeline straight for Will?

Can anyone imagine whiny, self-centered, it’s all about me (he’s definitely Sami’s son, there’s no question about that) Will making the same sort of sacrifice that Abigail did when it comes to Sonny and Paul (Christopher Sean)?

Granted, we don’t know where Will’s been all this time. Maybe life has forced him to grow up a little.

Then again, whatever he’s suffered may have made Will even more determined to get what he wants.

And if Will decides he wants Sonny — and Mama Sami (Allison Sweeney) and Grandma Kate (Lauren Koslow) — decide they’re going to help their precious little boy get what he wants… no matter what, does Paul even have a chance?
