On today’s Days of our Lives, Stefan DiMera and Gabi’s rendezvous was cruelly stymied by both business conversation and the latter’s seriously ticked-off husband.
In addition, Sloan (Jessica Serfaty) thought better of throwing away her greatest lay, Johnny (Carson Boatman) and Wendy (Victoria Grace) rumbled EJ’s (Dan Feuerriegel) subterfuge, and the wee terror known as Rachel (Finley Rose Slater) got her way by throwing a massive fit. Now, let’s dig a little deeper into what exactly happened.
After he tried to shake off the effects of the drug he’d been dosed with, Stefan (Brandon Barash) got down to the important business at hand: figuring out why Gabi (Camila Banus) was sticking it out with Li (Remington Hoffman).
Gabi admitted that she signed a contract. A legally binding contract. A contract that keeps her tied to her husband for an entire six months.

Stefan couldn’t understand why and pressed on for details. It was in exchange for Li’s shares in DiMera Enterprises, which changed things for Stefan. This was actually a brilliant maneuver on Gabi’s part and he supported it, which wasn’t exactly what Gabi wanted to hear.
Now that he understands that Gabi and Li’s marriage is nothing more than a “short-term merger,” Stefan can work with that…but only if there’s nothing in said contract about said marriage being consummated. Gabi explained that sex wasn’t even negotiated. “Li says he’s doing this to show me how much he loves me, that he’s committed to me, and that really puts me in the driver’s seat. He can’t do anything to upset me at all.”
Opposite this, having pretty much deduced that Gabi had misrepresented her schedule so that she could go frolic with Stefan, Li raged…and smashed his cell phone.
Wendy, who narrowly survived being knocked upside the head with said cell, demanded an explanation for her brother’s actions, and he obliged — and he even came clean about tracking Gabi’s location via a phone app. To say that Wendy was less than impressed with what she heard would be an understatement.
“Okay, so you begged for, like, six months to prove your love and devotion, and then on day two or something, you start stalking [Gabi]?!”
Li tried to explain away his actions, but Wendy wouldn’t hear it. Instead, she sat Li down, looked him right in the eye, and — much to her own chagrin — quoted some, “occidental B.S.” To wit, if you love something, set it free.
For a time, Li was contrite. He even gave serious consideration to tearing up the contract that Gabi signed and just giving her his shares without fuss. But after having a word with Sloan, and hearing from her that any infidelity on Gabi’s part would make their deal null and void, Li changed his mind — and made a beeline for the very same park in which Gabi and Stefan set, lips at the ready to smooch! The two were making out when Li happened upon them — and interrupted their special moment.
Sloan, despite herself, admitted, out loud, that Lady Whistleblower had hit the nail on the head. Sex with Eric (Greg Vaughan) was indeed the best sex she’s ever known. So, with that in mind, Sloan offered her lover boy her services…her professional services.
Though appreciative, Eric pointed out that he couldn’t exactly pay Sloan her exorbitant fees. That’s all right, purred Sloan. She could always take what he owes her “in trade.”
A quick one-sided phone call with Melinda Trask (Tina Huang) was all it took to get Eric released on very generous bail, and the two decided to meet back at his place — well, his dad’s place, in which he has a room, but, semantics.
While awaiting Sloan’s arrival, Eric crossed paths with Nicole (Arianne Zucker), who was surprised to see him out and about. Upon being brought up to speed, Nicole groused that she was under the impression that Eric and Sloan were no longer an item — isn’t that exactly what Eric confided to her a few days previously?
“We made up,” Eric offered. But what exactly does that mean, wondered Nicole. “Exactly what it sounds like,” replied Sloan, who then wondered, “why would I give up the best sex of my life — and why would he?”
Having eavesdropped on a conversation between EJ and Nicole earlier in the day and then allowing them to convince him that Stefan was an out-of-control drug addict, Johnny relayed the “facts” to Wendy…who strenuously disagreed. No way is Stefan the one on drugs. If anyone’s on drugs, it’s EJ.
Then, a lightbulb brightened over Johnny’s head. What if his dad is drugging Stefan so he can amass even more power at the company?
Wendy agreed that her beau may be on to something, but before they could dissect the hypothesis any further, EJ arrived and wondered what the two were up to.
Against her better judgment, Chloe (Nadia Bjorlin) agreed to join Brady (Eric Martsolf) and Rachel’s planned luncheon — and Rachel did not thank her for it.
First, the little girl shouted that Chloe was responsible for her daddy spending the night in jail, then she swore that she’d hate Chloe forever.
A well-meaning John (Drake Hogestyn) took Rachel aside and tried to smooth things over with a true-life fairytale. Once upon a time, Brady and Rachel’s grandma Marlena (Deidre Hall) didn’t get along so well. He saw her as a big mean stepmother, an evil witch, an intruder in his happy kingdom. But after persevering through the bad times, the two became as close as any mother and son could ever hope to be. Love made everything better.
Rachel appreciated the story…but she didn’t learn anything from it. “I’ll never love her, and I want her GONE,” Rachel groused, all the while nodding in Chloe’s direction.
Realizing that she was witnessing a losing battle, Chloe took her leave of the father and daughter. Brady, for his part, was at an obvious loss for how to proceed.
