On today’s Days of our Lives, Rachel Black proved that she has everything on “The Bad Seed.”
Days of our Lives Recap Highlights
In addition, John (Drake Hogestyn) and Marlena enjoyed some quality time together, Sloan gave Eric (Greg Vaughan) serious cause for concern, and Gwen (Emily O’Brien) spied with her little eye something extremely upsetting. Now, let’s dig a little deeper into what exactly happened.
Rachel Black Gets One Over On Brady And Chloe
In spite of her recent behavior — which has been wanting — Brady (Eric Martsolf) decided to give in to Rachel’s (Finley Rose Slater,) pleas for ice cream in light of the wonderful news that is her grandma Marlena not moving on to the Upper Room.
Though Rachel wondered exactly how that was the case, Brady assured her there would be time for explanations later. First, dessert! But before the order could be placed, Chloe (Nadia Bjorlin) dropped by and having overheard the tail-end of the convo, offered her sincere congratulations on Brady and Rachel’s good fortune.

Brady enthusiastically suggested that Chloe sit herself down and join his and Rachel’s celebration, suggesting that they’d order three scoops and three spoons. “Over my dead body,” hissed an unimpressed Rachel.
When Brady admonished Rachel and reminded her that Kristen (Stacy Haiduk) had vouched for Chloe in her latest jailhouse missive, Rachel reminded that Brady had forced Kristen’s hand…and when Brady inquired as to whether or not Kristen had actually told her that, Rachel revealed that she hadn’t — but Brady just did! Check and mate!
Chloe tried to ease the tension between herself and the wee terror with claims of loving feelings and a peace offering in the form of stickers, for Rachel’s collection, natch. Unimpressed, Rachel insisted that she’d grown out of her sticker phase, scrunched the gift into a ball, and accused Chloe of hating her as much as she hates Chloe.
In a fit of pique, Chloe granted Rachel that she was right on the money. She does hate her. Suddenly aware of her faux pas, Chloe issued profuse apologies to both Rachel and Brady while Brady escorted Rachel out of the pub, swearing the whole time that everything was fine. For her part, Rachel shot Chloe a most pleased look. Her job was done.
DAYS Recap: Taking It Easy
At John and Marlena’s townhouse, Marlena (Deidre Hall) took time away from finishing her Margaret Atwood novel to focus on kissing her husband. As for John, his excitement/enthusiasm over the task at hand resulted in him tumbling into the bathtub alongside his missus. Hardy, har swoon!
The couple wrapped their day with Marlena taking a call from her beloved stepdaughter Carrie and John then updating her on the reason for Eric and Belle’s (Martha Madison) continued feud: Sloan Petersen.
Sloan Petersen Swears She’s Innocent, Eric Has His Doubts
Speaking of Sloan (Jessica Serfaty)…she received a most unwelcome/inconveniencing “visit” from Paulina Price (Jackée Harry), and just as Eric was explaining how his mother had cheated death — and not for the first time.
Paulina wasted no time in accusing Sloan of being the one who constructed and delivered the poison pen letter that threatened/promised “This Isn’t Over Bitch” and Sloan immediately countered that she was not guilty.
Her strongest defense? “There’s a comma missing between ‘over’ and ‘bitch,’ you see? And I would just never make such a punctuation travesty.”
Paulina huffed to Eric that his mother would be rolling over in her grave if she could see him standing beside and up for the likes of Sloan, and that necessitated Eric explaining that Marlena was actually alive and well.
“Yet again someone gets a reprieve from death in the great city of Salem. Praise the Lord,” reflected Paulina, adding, “Well, maybe now she can talk some sense into you and get you away from this viper!”
More cross-arguing. More cross threats of reprisals. Once Paulina took her leave, Sloan promised Eric that she was indeed innocent of what Paulina accused her of doing.
And yes, she still very much wants to revenge herself against Paulina and Chanel. “But when I do, it’s not going to be from some passive-aggressive anonymous little note with letters cut out of a magazine. When I come for them, they’ll damned well know it’s me.”
A quick perusal of Sloan’s nearby work surface, which contained a stack of magazines and a pair of scissors, did not fill Eric with much confidence.
DOOL Recap: About Town
At Horton Town Square, Xander (Paul Telfer) overheard Chanel making an emergency appointment with a Dr. Greenberg whom he knows to be a cardiologist and wondered if everything was okay. It is and it isn’t, confided Chanel, who then went on to explain her and Paulina’s issues with Sloan and Paulina’s panic attack.
Xander offered heartfelt condolences, then tickled Chanel by good-naturedly referencing their days-lasting marriage a few years prior. Talked turned to the pair’s recent disastrous love lives, and each realized that they’d been screwed royally by Alex Kiriakis (Robert Scott Wilson) and not in the fun way. Well, one of them had [color Xander all kinds of shocked to hear Chanel admit his cousin lived up to the hype], but that’s neither here nor there.
As if on cue, Alex appeared and baited Xander by blustering that he’d just left Gwen’s (Emily O’Brien) bed after their third round of lovemaking [and completely sidestepping the fact that he’d been thrown out of the room so Leo (Greg Rikaart) could give Gwen an update on Xander].
Chanel stepped in and refereed the two before they could start swinging at one another. Paulina’s subsequent arrival got the men going. What the Hell was that? Questioned Paulina. “Just men being men and reminding me how lucky I am to have other options,” answered Chanel.
Daughter then explained to her mother that she’d made her a doctor’s appointment that she expected to be kept, and mother handed daughter the threatening missive.
Opposite this, Leo shared with Gwen his suspicions that Xander was hooking up with Chloe, and Gwen rebuked him. Afterward, she set off for the Brady Pub, where she caught sight of Xander with his arms around Chloe [unbeknownst to Gwen, it’s all perfectly innocent; an acquaintance merely comforting an acquaintance].
Meanwhile, Chanel swung by Leo’s with the intention of handing over the note that Paulina had left with her. Surely this would make for great copy in his latest column, no?
