The Days of our Lives recap features disillusionment, denial, and DiMeras covering their own backsides.
In this episode, Nicole Walker (Arianne Zucker) lets Eric Brady (Greg Vaughan) have it with both guns blazing. Elsewhere, Li Shin (Remington) put his little sister in an impossible position — and not for the first time — the DiMera manse gained a new/old occupant, and Stefan O. DiMera (Brandon Barash) decided to take back control of his destiny. Now, let’s dig a little deeper into what exactly happened.
Try as they might, Nicole and Eric just can’t have a civil conversation. What started with her expressing concern over his dying mother escalated to her excoriating him for his *erm* unconventional methods of trying to convince Kristen DiMera (Stacy Haiduk) to hand back over the orchid that he just knows she took, and finally exploded with Eric once again blaming Nicole for the role that she may or may not have played in Jada Hunter’s (Elia Cantu) decision to abort.

How dare he, screeched Nicole! Who is Eric to condemn her? Way back when, her ex was a good man, a man of his word, a man with principles, and now he’s kidnapping little girls and leaving them with the likes of Sloan Petersen (Jessica Serfaty). What the Hell Former-Father Eric?!
When it was all said and done, Nicole decided that the best thing to do was quit while she was ahead and busy herself with praying for Marlena’s immortal soul. Oh, and she’ll pray for Eric too. He really needs it.
The cat is out of the bag, and Brady Black (Eric Martsolf) hopes that that means Chloe Lane (Nadia Bjorlin) will forgive him for dumping her and welcome him back with open arms. Fat chance of that!
Not only did Chloe sleep with Stefan on New Year’s Eve, but she’s actually fallen back in love with the guy. Hard! Would have been nice if Brady confided in her what the heck was going on.
But yes, hearing the truth does complicate things. Chloe does still have feelings for Brady…they’re just buried deep, deep down inside.
Now that he’s painfully aware of the truth — well, most of it, anyway — Stefan took it upon himself to fill in Gabi (Camila Banus). He was also quick to point out that, despite knowing what he knows, he still feels absolutely nothing for her. Well, except for pity. He does pity her. But there are certainly no loving feelings.
Never mind all that, declares Gabi. That can all be fixed with a visit to Dr. Wilhelm Rolf’s (Richard Wharton) laboratory of black science. But Stefan isn’t so sure.
Yes, it would be nice to get his memory back, but what if that costs him his chance with Chloe? He loves Chloe…he thinks. It certainly feels like he loves Chloe. Hmmm…maybe he should get a tune-up so he can decide for himself.
A desperate, despondent Li begged [read: emotionally blackmailed] Wendy Shin (Victoria Grace) to intercede on his behalf with Gabi, and she stupidly attempted to. Turns out Gabi doesn’t want to have anything to do with Li or Wendy since she was complicit in keeping the truth about Stefan from her. Funny that.
Kristen has returned home, much to EJ DiMera’s (Dan Feuerriegel) chagrin. He’d rather not have his wicked sister anywhere on the property, but he was forced to consent once she started banding about a threat to reveal that he knew all about Stefan’s brainwashing and did nothing. Check and mate.
Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering) has bad news, and worse news. That much-prized orchid is nowhere to be found in the tunnels underneath DiMera House, and Dr. Rolf is the wind, he tells his sister and Stefan. You lose some, and then you really lose some.
