On today’s Days of our Lives, Megan Hathaway delighted in Marlena, Kate, and Kayla’s return to consciousness.
Days of our Lives Recap Highlights
In addition, Paulina (Jackée Harry) played conduit for Kate (Lauren Koslow), and John (Drake Hogestyn) and Steve (Stephen Nichols) came to a startling conclusion. Now, let’s dig a little deeper into what exactly happened.
Kate Roberts Makes Contact
Despite herself, Kate couldn’t help but hold out hope that what Jake (Brandon Barash) said was true — that she, Marlena (Deidre Hall), and Kayla (Mary Beth Evans) weren’t really dead and could be returned to their earthly bodies.
For their part, Marlena and Kayla weren’t convinced. After all, they’d already been fooled thrice. What’s to say that Jake wasn’t another Devil’s trick, in the same way, those visions of Adrienne (Judi Evans), Jordan (Chrishell Strause), and Susan Banks (Stacy Haiduk) were? No, they were pretty content to sit and wait it out and enjoy their respective bowels of Muesli and ambrosia. But not Kate. How dare her compatriots, especially Marlena — Muesli? In limbo? SERIOUSLY?

Okay, okay, granted Mar Mar and Kay, they do have something pressing that they can turn their attention to, namely finding out whether or not John, Steve, and Roman (Josh Taylor) went through with their plan to off Orpheus (George DelHoyo). Perhaps Kate could try establishing contact with Roman, again?
Opposite this, Paulina saddled up to Roman and whispered-asked if he’d made it in time to save bad ole Milo. He had. Paulina was grateful. Not because she thought the Big Bad deserved mercy mind, but because she knows in her heart of hearts that Kate wouldn’t have approved of her husband’s actions. Roman co-signed. Also, how the Hell did Paulina know his business? She threw Anna (Leann Hunley) under the bus.
More to the point, Paulina was interested in exactly how Kate communicated her feelings. Surely, she’d done so on her deathbed because that would make far more sense than Anna’s story about Kate speaking to Roman via her urn.
No, no it was as Anna said. Kate’s voice emanated from said urn. Roman heard her clear as day. Uh-huh, offered Paulina. Okay, sure. She can maybe, kinda, sorta see it happening.
And see — well, technically hear — it happen she eventually did. Kate called out from her then-current location, and with Roman indisposed, Paulina offered to take the message. Unfortunately, Kate was only able to get, “Tell Roman that we’re still –” before she was cut off.
Paulina relayed Kate’s words, and she and Roman pondered what the late Mrs. Brady was trying to get across.
DAYS Recap: Decisions, Decisions
It turns out that Nick (Blake Berris) might not be a lost cause after all. Though it took some serious doings, and the evoking of Julie Williams’s (Susan Seaforth Hayes) name, Angel Jake (Brandon Barash) was able to appeal to his counterpart’s *snicker* better angels and convince him to defy Satan and send the ladies’ souls back home.
The rub? There’s every chance that the minute they reunite with their bodies, they’ll perish, for real this time, and end up right back where they started a few days earlier. Marlena was willing to take the risk. And so said them all.
Tony Learns That Little Sister Megan Hathaway Is Alive And Well
Given that he’s married to a woman who makes a habit of conflating wishful thinking and full-blown delusions, Tony (Thaao Penghlis) wasn’t sure he should put much stock into Anna’s ravings that John and Steve had intended to murder Orpheus the night before.
Believe her, insisted the gentlemen in question, who casually let themselves into the DiMera manse. What exactly were they doing there? Why, they’d come for Tony’s help. Can he think of any kin, past or present, who would’ve wanted to see Marlena, Kayla, and Kate dead — because it was a DiMera who absconded with that life-saving orchid; Orpheus said so.
You shouldn’t believe everything a madman tells you, warned Tony, before adding that he’d like the men to leave. He had no intention of helping them build a case against a family member…and then they threatened him, so he suddenly did.
However, after mulling it over, Tony couldn’t think of anyone who’d be so dastardly. EJ (Dan Feuerriegel) wouldn’t so callously murder his children’s relatives, and neither Johnny (Carson Boatman) nor Sydney has motive. Ditto Stefan, even if he is a total sleazeball. The quad even goes so far as to rule out dastardly, dreamy, strapping hairy Peter Blake (Anna’s words, nobody else’s).
So, who could it have been? John has a theory: Megan Hathaway, yet another of Stefano’s illegitimate offspring — of which there are numerous.
Speaking of Megan….she was heartened to spy Marlena and co. emerging from their cold slumbers. Finally, they can get this party started!
