On today’s Days of our Lives, Kate manages to make a break for it and KO Big Bad Megan Hathaway, only to have her path to freedom blocked by…Beauregard Aurelius Brady!?!
Days of our Lives Recap Highlights
In addition, Marlena and Kayla (Mary Beth Evans) decided to be their own heroes, John took Paul (Christopher Sean) to task for wallowing, Steve put Andrew (Colton Little) on blast, and Roman and Lucas (Bryan Dattilo) reached a detente of sorts. Now, let’s dig a little deeper into what exactly happened.
Bo Brady Stymies Kate
Location: Secret DiMera Laboratory, Specific locale unknown. After declaring that the four of them have much to do, Megan Hathaway (Miranda Wilson) awakens Marlena, Kayla, and Kate and absconds with the latter to a smaller, somehow creepier lab.

Upon fully coming to, Kate demanded to know what gives…and Megan was more than happy to enlighten her. First, a brief catchup. Yes, it was indeed she who swiped the orchid from baby sister Kristen (Stacy Haiduk), and yes, it was indeed said orchid that was used to cure the three ailing femmes. The orchid has also served to remedy Megan’s own “condition” as well as the condition of someone who is very dear to her.
But there is still more healing yet to do, and the mad scientists at Megan’s beck and call have synthesized what they believe to be a serum that will do the trick. The rub? It comes with the caveat that what doesn’t make Megan stronger might kill her. And that’s where Kate comes in.
“I’m going to use you as a guinea pig…I don’t see any reason that I should take that risk, not when I have you here to do a trial run on.” With that, Megan readied to dose Kate. When her victim wondered if she’d be allowed some last words, Megan agreed, but warned Kate to be quick; Kate complied.
“The rope on my hands wasn’t tight, you dumb bitch!” With that pronouncement, Kate punched Megan into unconsciousness and made for the nearby door. And who should she meet in the darkened hallway but Bo Brady (Peter Reckell)?!
DAYS Recap: Locked Room Mystery
Opposite this, Marlena (Deidre Hall) and Kayla took in their surroundings and found themselves drawn to a section of the lab secreted behind a curtain. Further investigation yielded yet another cryogenic pod.
“So, who the Hell was in here?” queried Marlena. Kayla thought that she had the answer. Stefano DiMera. What if that had been Megan’s plan all along — to resurrect her father?
But after really considering the thought, the women decided that that was highly unlikely. After all, Rolf (Richard Wharton) had already transplanted Stefano’s “essence” into Steve via a microchip which had been subsequently removed and destroyed.
Kayla then turned her attention to stripping the aforementioned cryogenic pod for parts, which she used to pick the lock of the nearby door — a skill she acquired while on a particularly thrilling dinner date with Steve.
Steve And John Have Points To Make
Steve (Stephen Nichols) had a bone to pick with Andrew, and he decided to do so face-to-face on the ISA agent’s home turf. Andrew did not thank him for it, nor did he thank Uncle Steve for forcing him to admit that the general feeling at the agency is that Steve and John (Drake Hogestyn) have been compromised — they did serve as Megan’s brainwashed lackeys for a time — and should be left out of the loop where the search for the villainess is concerned.
Luckily for Steve, Andrew doesn’t subscribe to that feeling. Even luckier, Andrew’s willing to clue Steve into what the ISA has gathered thus far.
Meanwhile, in San Fransico, John and Paul caught up, and John was more than a little put out to learn that, not only haven’t Paul and Andrew been able to make their long-distance relationship work but that neither one has put in much effort.
“I see…it’s too hard for a couple of middle-aged farts to make adjustments…You got a secret agent, you got a star athlete, and you two act like a couple of insurance adjusters…You’re fine. You just sit here. You sit here all alone, and you just keep convincing yourself that logistics are too complicated to be with some who could actually make you happy!!” admonished John.
Post-blowup, John apologized profusely. Who is he to judge? But Paul got it, and he appreciated it. What Paul didn’t get or appreciate, however, was John clamming up as soon as he received an update from Steve. He met up with him to follow up on Steve’s lead, and they came to a locked door. Steve found something to pick the lock with and got it opened, guns were drawn. Opposite this, Marlena and Kayla got their door open to a shock. But was this the same door? Don’t count on it.
Many hours after his father left, Paul flashbacked to happier, smoochier times with Andrew. Minutes later, Andrew came calling, in person!
DOOL Recap: Forgive And Forget
Back in Salem, Roman (Josh Taylor) paid Lucas a visit and questioned whether or not he’d ever heard Kate mention a Megan Hathaway. He hadn’t…but why was Roman asking?
That necessitated Roman explaining Megan’s relation to Stefano and her complicated life’s journey — alive, dead, somehow alive again — and Lucas taking it all in.
Talk then turned to the men’s mourning of Kate and how they’re coping. Though he can’t relate to Roman exactly, Lucas theorizes that his situation with Sami (Alison Sweeney) is somewhat similar. The love of his life might be alive and well, but he’s as good as dead to her, so that hurts about as much as losing her to the Grim Reaper.
Lucas also took the opportunity to thank Roman for visiting him and keeping him apprised of the various happenings, and Roman admitted that he was happy to do it. Both men agreed that these meetings have been good for both of them and might even lead to a full rapprochement. Crazier things have happened.
