On today’s Days of our Lives, Marlena Evans found herself faced with an impossible choice — her soul in exchange for Kayla and Kate’s.
Days of our Lives Recap Highlights
In addition, Will (Chandler Massey) learned that Sonny, Allie (Lindsay Arnold), and Henry will be fleeing Salem with him, and Lucas Horton (Bryan Dattilo) found an outlet for his overwhelming grief. Now, let’s dig a little deeper into what exactly happened.
Marlena Evans Is Put On The Spot
The time for rejoicing was upon Marlena (Deidre Hall), Kayla (Mary Beth Evans), and Kate (Lauren Koslow) — Satan had agreed to a face-to-face.
But before the ladies could get too excited, Nick Fallon (Blake Berris) explained that it would be Marlena, and Marlena only, who would take the meeting. Fine by us, agreed Kayla and Kate. They trust Mar Mar to do right by them.
So, down to the bowels of Hell, Marlena descended. There, she came upon…Doug Williams (Bill Hayes)?! Oh no, was Doug dead too?

Of course not! Old Scratch had merely taken on the form of the beloved patriarch in the hopes of putting Marlena at ease. And besides, were she to look upon his actual visage, her face would “melt away,” and he couldn’t have that…could he? No, he couldn’t. Not in light of finally coming into possession of her soul.
Ah, souls, that’s exactly what Marlena had come to chat about, namely, the fact that her’s and her buddies’ were obtained under false pretenses. Surely that won’t be allowed to stand.
On the contrary, revealed DevilDoug. Here in Hell, things are done differently. Subterfuge is encouraged. Lies are frequently told. It’s a lifestyle that the Evil One is hopeful will catch on in the world proper.
But Marlena persisted. It’s just not fair. It’s not right. And more importantly, it’s very unbecoming of her old foe. Stooping to such measures. It should be ashamed of itself! That struck a nerve. And DevilDoug wasn’t appreciative.
All right, after having a think, the Prince of Darkness declared that it was ready, willing, and able to tear up the contracts that Kayla and Kate signed…but only if Marlena agreed to stand by side for all of eternity!
DOOL Recap: Bon Voyage
Much to Will’s surprise, Sonny (Zach Tinker) insisted that he would be joining him in New Zealand. What about Sonny’s job? What about Arianna Grace? Luckily, Sonny had answers to every question. Alex (Robert Scott Wilson) would be taking over the day-to-day running of Titan though he’d still be a mighty important cog in the machine, and, believe it or not, Gabi (Camila Banus) had signed off on Arianna jaunting off with her dads.
The only thing that remains is for Will to accept his fate…unless he’d rather go it alone. Is that what he wants? Perish the thought! Will couldn’t be any more pleased by the turn of events.
But wait! There be yet two further kinfolk coming along for the ride…if Will and Sonny will agree to take Allie and Henry. Of course they will, but why would Allie want to leave her life in Salem behind? Oh, no reason really, other than her cheating on Chanel (Raven Bowens) and totally blowing up both their lives. Goodness. What a way to cap a day that began with a trio of funerals.
Lucas Horton Puts On Quite The Show
After getting the go-ahead from Roman (Josh Taylor), Lucas put “Operation Kill Orpheus” into action. First, he rattled the cage of Orpheus’s in-pocket guard, resulting in Orpheus (George DelHoyo) putting in a personal appearance. Then, Lucas demanded more contraband booze. You know, to make having missed his mother’s funeral that morning a tad bit easier.
Orpheus complied…but his suspicions were raised. Sure, Lucas looked like a ranting, raving drunkard, but something was just…off.
The villain attempted to assuage his feelings by forcing Lucas to down the whisky he sought in front of him but was called away. Later, he was chagrined to learn that a supposedly soused Lucas had been taken to the infirmary.
DAYS Recap: Prison Break…In
With Marlena indisposed and with nothing better to do, Nick attempted to stir up trouble between Kayla and Kate by revealing the former’s unauthorized visitation to Steve (Stephen Nichols) the day previous.
Kate was indeed irritated, but only because she hadn’t thought of doing something similar and because Nick swore that they’d “plugged the hole,” so such an act couldn’t be repeated.
The women were further horrified to learn from the Big Bad’s emissary that their husbands/loved ones were in the midst of a murder mission as they were speaking.
And sure enough, opposite Kayla and Kate hemming, hawing, and gasping, Lucas ushered John (Drake Hogestyn) and Steve into the prison infirmary.
