The DAYS spoilers recap for Wednesday, September 21, 2022, features good valiantly triumphing over Evil. Not something that the majority of Salemites are used to.
Try as she might, and Lord know that she tried, Kristen DiMera (Stacy Haiduk) just couldn’t convince the judge overseeing her case that she was the parent Rachel Black (Finley Rose Slater) so desperately needed.

Now, maybe Kristen miscalculated when she dragged Chloe Lane’s reputation through the mud, or perhaps it was when she called John Black (Drake Hogestyn) to the stand and said bad, bad things about Marlena Evans Black (Deidre Hall) while she lay on what may very well be her death bed. It could have also been the result of her trying to frame Brady Black (Eric Martsolf) for a crime that the Salem Police Department isn’t even sure was committed.
Or maybe, just maybe it had something to do with Chloe’s impromptu meeting with the judge during which she handed over video evidence of Kristen threatening her with a letter opener. Could have, most definitely, been that.
Were it not for Shawn Brady’s (Brandon Beemer) unwanted interference, Steve Johnson (Stephen Nichols) would have made the world a better place by driving a stake — well, a really, really sharp pen — into the monster that is Milo Harp, alias Orpheus (George DelHoyo). As it stands, the villain will live to see and scheme another day.
Kate Roberts (Lauren Koslow) is a sick woman, but she doesn’t want to be treated as such. As a result, against medical advice and good common sense, she checked herself out of the hospital.
Now, on the one hand, Roman Brady (Josh Taylor) found her actions, “stupid, willful, and totally irrational.” On the other, he knew good and darn well that he wasn’t with a woman who was rational at the best of times; and she’s stubborn too; man is she stubborn. Still, that’s why he loves her, and that’s why he aided and abetted.
Kristen may be, as John so indelicately put it, “a miserable bitch,” but she’s also one with a mission — get revenge on Chloe, whom she’s sure is responsible for the outcome of the custody hearing. Orpheus, likewise, is biding his time and waiting for his enemies’ beloved ones to die; then and only then will he be at peace.
Just when it seemed like Kate’s most fiercely guarded secret — that Philip Kiriakis is alive and working hard to get well — would have to be shared with the world, it wasn’t.
