Having laughed at her sister’s misfortune, bedded her husband, and let down her children for the final time – sorry little ones, Mommy’s job comes first and foremost – Abigail Deveraux DiMera (Marci Miller) made the acquaintance of the Grim Reaper.

And no, she wasn’t decapitated as had been teased all over the world wide web. It was merely a run of the mill stab wound. But who was it that introduced the blade to Abigail’s gut?

DOOL Recap: Suspect #1

Lucas Horton (Bryan Dattilo) worked himself into quite the state, worried as he was that his niece would out him as Sami Brady’s (Alison Sweeney) kidnapper. But even though we do know that Lucas is a booze thief, and that he went on a pretty epic bender, is it possible that he went over to the DiMera mansion to slice and dice poor Abigail?

Leo Stark (Greg Rikaart) might have been ordered to give Abigail a new belly button by Gwen Rizczech (Emily O’Brien), and he might have hidden himself in the master bedroom closet, and yes, he did give spy on Abigail and give her the stink eye – but could he really have gone whole hog and murdered her?

But wait! There are still more viable candidates. Like Gwen herself. Why outsource a crime when you can so easily sneak off the prison grounds and commit it yourself?

And then there’s Sarah Horton (Linsey Godfrey). Sure, the odds aren’t good it was her, but she was at University Hospital complaining about a hallucination which caused her to mistake grizzly grandpa Victor Kiriakis (John Aniston) with lithe and lethal Kristen DiMera (Stacy Haiduk). There’s always the possibility that Abigail’s blonde hair both confused and riled Sarah into a killer frenzy.

The only people in town who couldn’t have killed Abigail are Shawn Brady (Brandon Beemer), Jan Spears (Heather Lindell), Belle Black Brady (Martha Madison), EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel), and Dr. Marlena Evans Black (Deidre Hall). That’s because they were all too busy worrying about and/or tending to Jan who prematurely delivered a little boy…or they were busy macking on EJ…well, only Belle was busy doing that.
