The DAYS spoilers recap for Tuesday, July 19, 2022, features Lucas Horton getting his memory back — and throwing Sarah Horton under the proverbial bus…on her wedding day, no less.
Dr. Marlena Evans Black (Deidre Hall) performed her modern-day witchcraft on Lucas (Bryan Dattilo), and slowly but surely, he recalled the night that Abigail Deveraux DiMera (Marci Miller) died.
Yes, he was in the manse, but no, he did not injure his hand during a mad stabbing frenzy. His thirst overcame him, and as any connoisseur of Tequila knows, lemons pair particularly well. Seconds after slicing his palm open in a desperate attempt to spruce up his beverage, Lucas spied a figure beating a hasty retreat out the front door. Did he recognize the person? He sure did! It was Sarah (Linsey Godfrey)! And that’s unfortunate because…see below.
Sarah and Xander Kiriakis (Paul Telfer) are getting married — and not in the sense that they are engaged and planning to swap vows someday in the near future No, they are literally beginning the ceremony when Lucas achieves total recall.
Up to the moment when one Detective Jada Hunter (Elia Cantu) interrupted the proceedings to bring Sarah downtown, everything had been coming up roses for the couple. Nobody had seen fit to purchase Sarah’s engagement ring — the one that Xander had pawned in order to purchase likewise for Gwen Rizczech (Emily O’Brien) — so Xander was able to collect it, and Maggie Horton Kiriakis (Suzzane Rogers) was able to scare up a dress suitable for Sarah’s needs. They really should have known that trouble was just around the corner.
If you’re asking yourself, “Who’s this Jada person,” then this is the paragraph for you. Though she hasn’t made an appearance before now, the SPD’s newest hire is the daughter of one Dr. Marcus Hunter, a plastic surgeon extraordinaire, and bestie of Steve Johnson (Stephen Nichols). The men made each other’s acquittance at a foundling home, and it was Marcus who reconstructed Steve’s eye socket so that he could ditch the trademark patch and infiltrate a drug smuggling operation that was masquerading as a traveling revival show.
Nancy Wesley (Patrika Darbo) wants only one thing from Clyde Weston (James Read): total honesty. That’s going to be a problem because Clyde’s been a stranger to the truth for so many decades that he might be incapable of recognizing or practicing it.
If you ask Kristen DiMera (Stacy Haiduk) — and Gwen very much didn’t, but what’s she going to do, Kristen’s her new cellmate — Sarah just isn’t herself. Not after all the traumas that she endured. So, maybe there is cause to be concerned that Sarah is really Abigail’s killer after all.
