The DAYS spoilers recap for Thursday, August 18, 2022, asks an age-old question: if you can’t trust your best fiend, then who can you trust?
Leo Stark (Greg Rikaart) is all about self-preservation…self-preservation and looking and being fabulous…but mostly self-preservation.

So, even though it pained him terribly (not really), he just had to tell Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering) that it was Gwen Rizczech (Emily O’Brien) who brutally stabbed Abigail Deveraux DiMera (Marci Miller) to death.
But words were not enough — Rafe needed proof. Luckily Leo knew exactly where Gwen had hidden the mask that made her Sarah Horton’s (Linsey Godfrey) double. Gwen, the jig is up!
In want of something to do, Dr. Kayla Brady Johnson (Mary Beth Evans) took to playing armchair psychiatrist with Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn). The young man was in a bad way, and Kayla did her best to nudge him in the right direction — she even shared her own story of grieving Steve Johnson (Stephen Nichols) for over 15 years. Chad didn’t think that any of that mattered, though, since Steve eventually came back and Abigail never will (insert eye roll emoji here).
Thanks to his skills as a lurker and eavesdropper, EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel) came into possession of some tantalizing information: Ava Vitali (Tamara Braun) arranged a little furlough from Statesville for Gwen, coincidentally on the very night that Abigail met her untimely end. This gives EJ all the ammunition he needs to commit good old-fashioned blackmail.
Stephanie Johnson (Abigail Klein) is back in town, and Steve could be a whole lot happier. It’s not that he isn’t pleased to see his ‘Little Sweetness’ mind you; it just has everything to do with his deep-seated fear that she’ll become yet another target for Milo Harp, alias Orpheus (George DelHoyo). Stephanie thinks otherwise. Let the battle of the wills commence!
Xander Cook (Paul Telfer) had plans, BIG plans to ensure Gwen’s downfall. There were going to be costumes, a fake mustache, some John McClane-style tunneling through air vents, and more. Sarah was suitably impressed, but they’ll just have to settle for watching Gwen getting dragged downtown by Rafe. It’ll do.
