The DAYS spoilers recap for Monday, July 18, 2022, features EJ DiMera resorting to his old, bad ways. Looks like the promise to be and do better was all smoke and mirrors.
Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn) thought that if he just made a clean breast of things, then EJ (Dan Feuerriegel) would appreciate his honesty, and they’d be able to move on from there. Chad was wrong. He should have known that he was wrong. He did not.
EJ was not only fighting mad that his brother knew he was innocent of kidnapping Sami Brady (Alison Sweeney) but that he’d conspired with Kate Roberts (Lauren Koslow) to send him to prison. This was an indignity that would not stand. Kate and Chad had to pay. Dearly. So EJ hit them where it would really hurt.
If the two want to stay out of prison, then they’ll sign over their shares in DiMera Enterprises to EJ. This does not bode well for Gabi Hernandez DiMera (Camila Banus), the current holder of the company’s CEO title.
Dr. Marlena Evans Black (Deidre Hall) is pissed! And when this lady gets pushed this far, people (typically the Stefanos of the world) have a tendency to get shot or shot full of a paralytic agent. And while Marlena might not be willing to go that far where Kate Roberts (Lauren Koslow) is concerned, she sure doesn’t want her darkening her door.
But Kate’s got a favor to ask. A big favor. Would Marlena mind hypnotizing Lucas Horton (Bryan Dattilo) so that he may recover his memories from the night that Abigail Deveraux DiMera (Marci Miller) was killed? Marlena agrees, which is probably a good thing because…well, see below.
JJ Deveraux (Casey Moss), who’s always been the type to let his fists do the talking for him, is ready to beat some recollection into his uncle. Jennifer Rose Horton Deveraux (Cady McClain) managed to arrive in time to prevent any bloodshed, and she comforted Lucas with her sincere belief that he didn’t murder her daughter.
Will Horton (Chandler Massey) has been making a name for himself in the world of streaming TV services, what with his bringing the quest for Alamainian jewels to life and penning a raucous take on the Christmas special. His latest masterpiece — which he’s keeping very close to the vest — has been greenlit, and he’s Hollywood bound…with his husband’s blessing, of course. As for the rest of his dysfunctional family, they’ll just have to sort themselves out.
A depressing convo with a down-and-out Jack Deveraux (Matthew Ashford) convinced Xander Cook (Paul Telfer) that life and time are precious commodities and that every moment should count for something. Therefore, he proposes that he and Sarah Horton (Linsey Godfrey) get married ASAP — as in that day, within the hour if possible.
