In the Days of our Lives recap for November 22, 2023, Eric’s compassion, and stories about Sami, buoys guilt-riddled Sloan.

Days of our Lives Recap Highlights

In addition, Ava betrayed Harris, Clyde offered Gabi protection if Stefan replaced Gil, and Nicole got some TLC from father figure Abe. Now, let’s dig a little deeper into what happened.

Tables Turning

Rather than confess her sins as Melinda (Tina Huang) feared, Sloan (Jessica Serfaty) informed Eric (Greg Vaughan) that they were getting their baby tomorrow. First thing in the morning, to be precise. It’s a holiday miracle — lest Eric forgot that the day coincides with Thanksgiving. The mommy and daddy-to-be certainly have much to be thankful for.

Soon the two are settled onto the nearby sofa and discussing baby names. Eric’s top choice — Samuel. Sam for short. Sloan blanched. He wanted to name their son after his sister Sami (Alison Sweeney)? The hot mess that half of Salem despises?

What’s wrong with that, wondered Eric. After all, his sister is more than her reputation. She is the most loyal and protective person he knows. Sloan then pointed out that Sami and Nicole (Arianne Zucker) were rivals. How would the latter feel about all this? Also, what exactly was the source of the ladies’ hostility?

Eric relayed how Nicole had done the worst thing you can ever do to a mother: steal her baby. But, of course, he forgave her, because he believes in forgiveness. And besides, Sami is not innocent. As he recounted, in the 1990s, there wasn’t a DNA test in his family that Sami didn’t tamper with. If anybody can understand that sometimes desperate people do desperate things, it’s Sloan.

Making It Work

At the Salem Police Department, Ava (Tamara Braun) accepted the call from Clyde (James Read) and listened in disgust as he demanded to know what they were going to do about her “icing his man on the outside.” After all, she’s still under his thumb. Tripp’s (Lucas Adams) life is still in danger.

In the end, Clyde reiterated Ava’s assignment: she’s to get her “pretty little paws” on Harris’s key to the evidence locker and make those confiscated drugs disappear. Or else!

As luck would have it, the opportunity to do just that presented itself. Harris left his mess of keys unattended. While Tripp was preoccupied with desperately trying to snag Ava a lawyer, she was able to swipe them no problem. Not that she didn’t feel bad. She felt really, really bad.

Let’s Make A Deal

Meanwhile, Stefan (Brandon Barash) barreled his way into Nicole’s hospital room shouting and demanding that EJ (Dan Feuerriegel) drop the “bogus” murder charges against Gabi. At Nicole’s urging, the men took their argument outside, and EJ delighted in delivering a big fat NOPE. Stefan, in turn, more than implied that the death (well, “death”) of Nicole’s baby was EJ’s karma biting him in the ass.

Opposite the brothers’ contentious convo, Nicole accepted a visit from Abe (James Reynolds), who set her straight about a few things. Her baby’s death (well, “death”) wasn’t down to her Karma coming back to bite her. She has a good heart and she’s not alone. She has her friends, and her family, and she’s got him. He might not know who she is, but he loves her just the same as if he did.

Speaking of people that Abe doesn’t remember but loves all the same, Paulina (Jackée Harry) extended him an invitation to her Thanksgiving dinner. He happily accepted…eventually.

Critical Condition

Sometime later, Stefan found himself waylaid in his attempt to visit Gabi. What, exactly, did Clyde want? Why, some quid pro quo, of course. He agreed to keep Gabi safe in Statesville as long as Stefan did something for him, namely take over the running of his drugs empire.
