Vivian told Philip she blew up his world on the Friday, April 18, episode of Days of Our Lives. Instead of running away, he faced the music with Xander. And instead of pulling a gun or a baseball bat on his half-brother, Xander showed Philip just how hurt he was. And now we need these two to reconcile.

They’re Family

Learning about the forged letter cut Xander (Paul Telfer) to the core. And it triggered his feelings of abandonment and not being good enough for this family. After all, Victor (the late John Aniston) — while he was alive — never acknowledged that Xander was his son. He truly thought Philip (John-Paul Lavoisier) and Vivian (Louise Sorel) were laughing behind his back at getting one over on Xander and stealing his birthright.

While Xander threatened to call the cops, it never felt like a credible threat. However, he told Philip to get out of the mansion. But before Philip left, he got the chance to speak his mind. And he said that he never laughed at Xander. He truly thought that this would be something Victor wanted and would have approved had he had the chance. After all, everything was muddled since Philip was presumed dead.

Philip made a good case when he said he had lost everything during that period of time, including his mind. He was in a mental institution, and that’s when Vivian came to him with the idea of the forged letter and wrestling Titan away from Xander. But he did go along with it. It’s what he thought he was owed. Ultimately, however, he loved working with Xander just like Xander loved working with him.

Philip and Xander admitting how much they loved working together is exactly why they need to reconcile their issues and get back to being co-CEOs. Or Philip takes a demotion or whatever concessions they need to make to repair the bond that broke between them. It has been fun to see them work so fabulously together. They complement each other and will hopefully come to their senses because they need to fend off any retaliation Kristen (Stacy Haiduk) has planned for them.

Also, Sarah (Linsey Godfrey) should feel really lucky right now because Philip didn’t sell her out. Xander has no idea that she has known about all of this forged letter madness for months.

Incriminating Evidence

Meanwhile, the gun Melinda loaned to Ava shortly before EJ’s shooting was discovered. Shawn and JJ wanted to arrest her because she loaned it to someone who legally couldn’t carry a gun because of her stint at Bayview. But they let her go.

Apparently, nobody knows that Ava left Salem. What does that mean for their investigation?
