The DAYS recap for Wednesday, November 16, 2022, features a bit of levity and some good sound advice amongst a sea of shocking revelations.
In this episode, Kate Roberts (Lauren Koslow) and Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn) touch base while Wendy Shin (Victoria Grace) and Johnny DiMera (Carson Boatman) touch down in Jakarta. Elsewhere, Stephanie Johnson (Abigail Klein) and Chanel Dupree (Raven Bowens) open up about their pasts, Paulina Price Carver (Jackée Harry) puts a threat to her family on blast, and Li Shin (Remington Hoffman) ponders whether it’s nice guys or bad boys who really finish last. Now, let’s dig a little deeper into what exactly happened.
Having recovered nicely from her near-death experience — if only she knew what was coming down the pike — Kate popped by Horton House to check in on Chad, thank him for his wedding present: a copy of “The New Bride’s Cookbook,” and agree that it was a far better choice than “What to Expect on Your Wedding Night.”
All joking aside, how is Chad doing? Really doing? He swears he’s fine…a little confused maybe, but fine. On the one hand, he’s not ready to make a go of it with anyone who isn’t Abby, but on the other, he can’t help but feel…something for Stephanie — and he most definitely feels jealous that she’s spending all her free time with Alexander Neil Kiriakis (Robert Scott Wilson).
Kate suggests telling Stephanie how he feels — perhaps the most solid piece of advice she’s ever offered to anyone ever — but he declines. How can he ask her to put her love life on hold on the off chance that he might one day be ready to romance her? Ick, declares Kate. How can she so adore a young man with such scruples?
After 36 harrowing hours on a luxurious private jet, Wendy and Johnny reach their destination — let the bickering, leering [did Johnny have to prance around half-naked after his shower?], plotting, and hacking ensue.

In no time flat, computer guru Wendy identified what she assured her partner-in-crime was Dr. Wilhelm Rolf’s (Richard Wharton) laboratory, but then came the question of how to best proceed.
After agreeing that Rolf would never buy Johnny suddenly embracing his DiMera side, it was decided that Wendy should confront the mad scientist, ostensibly on Li’s orders, while wired up for sound. Cut to Johnny taping a microphone to Wendy’s toned midsection like she’s a snitch on Miami Vice.
With the truth poised to come out one way or another, Chanel sat Allie Horton (Lindsay Arnold) down and told her to strap in. Once upon a time, somewhere in ye old England, Chanel fell under the sway of a very charismatic, very married college professor and when his wife learned of the affair, she lured Chanel to the roof of the school and proceeded to attack her verbally and physically. Push came to shove — literally — and Martha Bedford plunged to her death. Then it was the same old story: rich girl gets brought in for questioning, cops to the crime, gets off thanks entirely to her rich parent throwing their money around.
While Allie can see that Chanel was the victim in all this — after all, she was groomed by a predator and then blamed for it — Sloan Petersen (Jessica Serfaty) won’t be swayed…not by reason and certainly not by Paulina’s threats to make her rue the day she enacted her revenge scheme.
Despite herself, Stephanie is starting to fall for Alex’s charm — but first, she wants him to understand exactly why she was so against him in the first place: he reminded her of an ex who did her wrong; very, very wrong.
Alex likewise wanted Stephanie to understand his reasoning for being a boneheaded horndog: his biological mother drilled into his head that love was a mug’s game, and he wasn’t about to be played. Plans change.
If Wendy and Johny have anything to say about it, the jig will be up for Li…but if he has anything to say about it those meddling kids won’t emerge victorious. What Li should be focusing on is the sparks flying between brainwashed Stefan O. DiMera (Brandon Barash) and Gabi Hernandez No-Longer-DiMera (Camila Banus). They say that there’s a fine line between love and hate, and these two are about to cross it at any moment.
