The DAYS recap for Monday, December 5, 2022, features the usage of a whole lot of British slang, and a Pommy — that’s British slang for a British man — getting his block knocked off — that’s English slang for you getting punched right square in the face!
DAYS Recap Highlights
In this episode, Eric Brady (Greg Vaughan) let his fist — and the alcohol that he previously consumed — do the talking. Elsewhere, Leo Stark (Greg Rikaart) made trouble without really trying, Kristen DiMera (Stacy Haiduk) got Brady Black (Eric Martsolf) all hot and bothered, and the Alex/Stephanie/Chad love triangle continued to grow ever more complicated. Now, let’s dig a little deeper into what exactly happened.
Days of our Lives Recap: Confrontation Station
Eric might not be too enamored of Nicole Walker Soon-To-No-Longer-Be-Hernandez (Arianne Zucker) as of late, but that doesn’t mean that he wants to see her go off with another man…especially if that man is EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel). Eric HATES EJ DiMera.
Eric was further peeved to learn that Nicole had updated EJ on all the latest goings on — or goings wrong, as the case might be — the most important of which was Jada Hunter (Elia Cantu) terminating her pregnancy and Eric making out like it’s Nicole’s fault.
EJ took great delight in pointedly pointing out that ERIC brought all his misfortune on himself, and Eric, in turn, asked EJ’s face to hold his fist. Compounding Eric’s trespass was his subsequent shoving of brother-in-law Shawn Brady (Brandon Beemer), who’d just wanted to keep the peace.
Two assaults, in one night, back-to-back, and one of the victims an officer of the law? Yeah, things aren’t looking too good for Eric. He’s most certainly going to jail. Mostly because when asked if he’ll press charges, Nicole basically gave EJ permission to do just that. If looks could kill…Nicole wouldn’t be standing.
DOOL Recap: Slump Day
Leo is starving — for attention, a spot of drama, and nourishment. Pushover Sonny Kiriakis (Zach Tinker) provided the spotlight, and nosh, Will Horton’s (Chandler Massey) phone call to his husband provided the show.
Turns out Will isn’t coming home for Christmas — those Scrooges over at Peacock want him in Los Angeles toiling away on his latest script — and though Sonny says all the right things, he says them in a voice that makes it clear as crystal that everything is most decidedly not all right.
How could Will do this to him? Abandon him…and at the holidays, no less. Has Will no shame? No heart? Sonny has seen more of Leo these past few months than the man he’s married to, and call him selfish, but Sonny doesn’t think that’s right. Good thing he has Leo to confide in. Leo will make him feel better when Will can’t.
DAYS Recap: Battle Zone
Brady is fit to be tied, and as per usual, Kristen is the cause of his consternation. Her latest sin: working overtime to convince Rachel Black (Finley Rose Slater) that Mommy and Daddy can most definitely get back together and actually make it down the aisle.
But is it true that Brady doesn’t want to get back together? Is it true that Brady doesn’t want to marry her? Kristen thinks that he’s protesting too much. Plus, if Kristen REALLY wanted to, she could make Brady marry her.
Surely, he remembers that Marlena Evans Black (Deidre Hall) and co. are going to need another dose of that ‘make everything better serum.’ Surely, he wouldn’t want to piss Kristen off and make her less than inclined to hand said serum over…right?
Days of Our Lives Recap: In The Air Tonight
After being assured that he got the wrong end of the stick — Stephanie Johnson (Abigail Klein) and Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn) were only exchanging a friendly hug — Alexander Neil Kiriakis (Robert Scott Wilson) broke out the Chinese food that he’s brought over and got stuck helping the dynamic public relations duo do damage control. But how to paint Paulina Price Carver (Jackée Harry) in the best possible light considering her arrest?
Play up her image of Mother Courage personified, that’s how! The voters that put Paulina in the governor’s mansion ate up the fact that she was willing to take the fall for a murder her daughter committed, so they most likely won’t hold Paulina’s covering up of another crime committed by her other baby girl.
Huzzah! Aren’t the trio just the best? Won’t Paulina be so proud of them? This calls for a round of sodas — as the Salemites would be inclined to call them –a toast or two, and while Alex and Stephanie are at it, they might as well read their fortune cookies.
His is humorous: “Help, I’m trapped in a fortune cookie factory!” Hers is prophetic but confusing: “You’re looking at the man of your dreams.” If only the cookie could tell which man that she gazed upon — Alex or Chad — is the mythical “one.”
DOOL Recap: Memories Of Long Ago
Eric’s drinking is a cause of concern for all who know and love him — Nicole included. She and Belle Black Brady (Martha Madison) and Shawn, and most of the townsfolk remember that the last time Eric drank, he killed Daniel Jonas, nearly killed Brady, and caused Jennifer Rose Horton Deveraux (sometimes Melissa Reeves, sometimes, Cady McClain) to develop an addiction to painkillers. At least Eric isn’t in a position to get any drunker and then get behind the wheel of another car.
