In the Days of our Lives recap for September 22, 2023, Rex confides in his brother at the worst possible opportunity.
Days of our Lives Recap Highlights
In addition, Theresa got on the same(ish) page with Alex and Brady, Vivian tried and tried again to hire a second in command, and things were looking decidedly up for Maggie. Now, let’s dig a little deeper into what happened.
Days of our Lives Recap: Baby Blues
At University Hospital, Sarah (Linsey Godfrey) bid her mother tell her what was so obviously weighing on her mind. Despite her initial resistance, Maggie (Suzanne Rogers) eventually admitted that there was a problem. A big problem. “And her name is Vivian Alamin.”
Sarah then listened, mouth agape, as Maggie relayed how Vivian had swooped, revealed herself to be the actual widow Kiriakis, and kicked all of Victor’s kith and kin out on their backsides. Once Maggie wrapped her sad tale, Sarah could but issue platitudes.

Enter Rex (Kyle Lowder), who floated the idea of him and Sarah getting hitched that very afternoon. And as for Maggie, she could take her pick of being the officiant or a witness.
A shocked and awed Sarah insisted that Maggie voice her opinion on the matter, so Maggie spits some harsh truths, namely that marriage is sacred and not something you just throw together at the last minute in order to double down on a lie.
Once Maggie took her leave, Rex graciously offered Sarah an out, which she refused to take. Opposite this, Xander (Paul Telfer) convinced Chloe (Nadia Bjorlin) to pack a bag and join him on the next flight to New York, where they’d take in a Broadway show or two and then get hitched.
Chloe, who was practically walking on air, soon crash-landed back down on Earth when a quick jaunt to the town square resulted in her overhearing Rex admitting to Philip (John-Paul Lavoisier) that Victoria Margaret was really Xander’s daughter.
DAYS Recap: Same Page
Meanwhile, at Brady Pub, Justin (Wally Kurth) joined Brady (Eric Martsolf), who turned over the attaché case the ISA had recovered from the wreckage of Victor’s plane. The convo eventually steered to Theresa (Jen Lilley) muscling her way onto Brady and Alex’s (Robert Scott Wilson) adventure to Greece and how she’d thrown herself at the younger Kiriakis.
Though taken aback — as he admittedly didn’t want Theresa getting her hooks into his son — Justin offered that he was sure Alex had the situation under control…and sure enough, Alex did…somewhat. When the femme fatale in question came calling, he made sure to assure her that their lovemaking the night previous hadn’t been a pity lay. He actually really likes her.
Before Theresa could launch a second seduction, she was summoned to Brady’s side. The issue? Their son was expelled from his school.
DOOL Recap: Good Help Is Hard To Find
Just before his catch-up/confessional with Rex, Philip had happily turned down his Vivian’s offer to join her at Titan as her right-hand man, even as she dangled the possibility of helping him reclaim Chloe’s love. With nothing at all left to lose, Vivian called up Alex, informed him that she had a job available, and swore that he was her first and only choice to do it.
Days of our Lives Recap: Victor-Victorious
Justin joined Maggie at the Horton house and presented Victor’s briefcase. Together, the duo opened it and began pouring through its contents. And, what should they stumble upon but Victor’s latest Last Will & Testament?
