In the Days of our Lives recap for September 27, 2023, Chloe puts her love for Xander truly out of her head and makes a half-hearted attempt to win Philip’s favor.
In addition, Xander put Sarah and Rex on notice, Tripp cleared up Wendy’s confusion, and Susan Banks sent Ava and Harris a message. Now, let’s dig a little deeper into what happened.
A teary-eyed Chloe (Nadia Bjorlin) invited Philip (John-Paul Lavoisier) into her and Xander’s (Paul Telfer) abode and wondered what he was doing there. Wasn’t his brother getting married as they spoke?
Philip hedged a bit rather than outright explain, so Chloe helpfully filled in the blanks for him with a curt, “Let me guess. Xander crashed the wedding.” Yep. He sure did.
Chloe copped to being the one responsible for Xander’s actions. After all, she’d filled him in on the fact that he was Victoria Margaret’s father — a truth that she became privy to after eavesdropping on Rex (Kyle Lowder) and Philip.

Chloe then bemoaned how her and Xander’s plans to fly to New York and wed were kaput and well-meaning Philip offered that could still happen. Nothing’s really stopping them.
Oh, but there is. There’s SO much stopping them. There’s the baby, and Sarah (Linsey Godfrey), and Philip’s feelings for her. That’s right. Chloe had also heard enough of the brothers’ conversation to deduce that Philip might still be in love with her.
After Philip insisted that he’d never wanted to come between her and Xander — or mess things up between Sarah and Rex for that matter — he launched into a pity party, declaring that he didn’t deserve her love, not after what he did to her and Brady (Eric Martsolf).
Chloe insisted that she recognized Philip wasn’t that same person anymore and strongly hinted that she was ready, willing, and able to forgive and forget and move on with him.
Philip momentarily attempted to figure out whether or not Chloe could ever truly love him again, but balked before she could answer. Chloe, for her part, insisted that her lingering feelings for him were absolutely not a knee-jerk reaction to recent goings on. Philip, however, didn’t seem too convinced.
Having been corralled outside the Brady Pub, Xander went to Sarah and demanded an explanation for her actions. What kind of person is she? To keep a child from its father, that’s…that’s…well, yeah it’s exactly what they did to Eric (Greg Vaughan), but that was totally different because Sarah was keeping Victoria Margaret from him out of sheer spite.
Sarah hissed that that wasn’t true at all. She was protecting her daughter from being raised by a killer… a blackmailer… a thief, a diamond smuggler, an attempted murderer, and a guy who literally held someone hostage in a cage.
Seriously peeved that his past misdeeds had been thrown up in his face yet again, Xander bellowed that Sarah had once again played God and sarcastically inquired how it felt to be so perfect.
More back and forth, more painful and hurtful things hurled. Rex entered the scene and squared up against Xander who vowed to fight the two tooth and nail to lay claim to his daughter.
Meanwhile, Wendy (Victoria Grace) was aghast to learn that Tripp (Lucas Adams) had ratted out his mother and Harris Michaels’s (Steve Burton) location when her freedom was laid on the line. He chose her? Why?
“Cause I’m in love with you,” came Tripp’s reply. Unlike Allie Horton before her, Wendy said it right back. Instead of deciding to go up on the roof and shout out the development, the two decided to stay indoors and smooch.
In London, a seriously peeved Ava (Tamara Braun) demanded another sign from Susan as to her whereabouts. Glancing at Ava’s plate, Harris believed his friend’s request — and yes, the two are officially friends now — had been listened to.
Ava, for her part, strongly disagreed. Sure, it looked like their pastry crumbs were gathered in the shape of the letter E, but what did that prove? Well, a cursory Internet search informed the pair that Susan was once married to an Englishman named, wait for it, Edmund Crumb!
Opposite this, Rafe (Galen Gering) AKA “Mr. Sherlock Homeboy” and Jada (Elia Cantu) were disappointed to find the hotel room that Ava and Harris had rented empty, and they were further put out to learn from a tricked Tripp that Ava and Harris were on a mission to locate (a supposedly alive) Susan.
