In the Days of our Lives recap for September 21, 2023, a weepy Theresa dries her torrent of tears on Alex’s torso.
In addition, Vivian loses a Chief Operating Officer, and Stephanie and Chad are put under the microscope. Now, let’s dig a little deeper into what happened.
In Greece, Theresa’s (Jen Lilley) attempts to pour over the contents of Victor’s attaché case were rudely interrupted by Alex (Robert Scott Wilson) and Brady’s (Eric Martsolf) sudden return and their admonishments that they know exactly what she’s been up to.
Luckily for Theresa, before she could rat herself out, the men clarified that they knew all about her charging costly room service items — like caviar at $1,000 an ounce — to Alex’s credit card. Brady huffed that the act proved Theresa hadn’t changed one little bit.

When the subject of the much-in-demand letters came up, Theresa fetched the case that she’d stowed away, explained how Shane (Charles Shaughnessy) had left it in her care, and offered that perhaps what Brady and Alex sought was inside.
Brady (rightfully) deduced that Theresa was up to something but chose to accept her protestations at face value just as he did her insisting that it should be Maggie (Suzanne Rogers) who “firsts” peers inside the case.
An argument then ensued over where Theresa was to sleep. She blithely assumed that Brady would make room for her in his bed, but that was a no-go. He doesn’t want her anywhere near him. A few pointed insults and a whole lot of crying later, Theresa was in Alex’s arms, their limbs and lips intertwined.
Back in Salem, Chad (Billy Flynn) was thrown for a loop after learning that Maggie was out and Vivian Alamain (Louise Sorel) was very much in at Titan. Equally upsetting was Vivian’s stated goal of getting Titan back into the illegal drug trade.
So, it remained for Chad to tender his resignation and return home to Stephanie (Abigail Klein) and the meal she’d prepared for him and her visiting parents. Of course, he walked in just in time to hear the tail end of Stephanie and Kayla’s (Mary Beth Evans) conversation about a potential marriage. By the by, of course Stephanie wants to marry him! Also, she’s not at all jealous by the prospect of Theresa and Alex dating.
Meanwhile, Vivian set out on a mission: find a new COO stat! Her first port of call was (adopted) nephew John Black (Drake Hogestyn), a man riding high on finally finding a decent father. John agreed to accept the job…but on the proviso that Vivian give Maggie back the mansion. No sale!
Opposite this, Julie handed Maggie a registered letter from Vivian. Inside, her termination papers. The women bemoaned Maggie’s new normal but took some pleasure in throwing Vivian out on her behind (well, Julie more than Maggie) when she came a-calling with a box of Maggie’s beloved bric-à-brac.
