The Days of our Lives recaps for August 15 – August 19, 2022, feature several big swings and several big misses, people who committed the crime willing to do the time, and so much more.
Tony DiMera (Thaao Penghlis) tries and fails to convince Kristen DiMera (Stacy Haiduk) to move back into the family abode. Anna Fredricks DiMera (Leann Hunley) is put out to find Kristen perusing an article about Stefan O. DiMera (Brandon Barash)… Kristen arrives at Dr. Wilhelm Rolf’s (Richard Wharton) laboratory and is stunned to find Li Shin (Remington Hoffman) lurking within.
Alexander Neil Kiriakis (Robert Scott Wilson) delights over the details of Chanel Dupree (Raven Bowens) and Allie Horton’s (Lindsay Arnold) less than average courtship; Gabi Hernandez DiMera (Camila Banus) catches the cad’s eye… EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel) takes disappointed note of Johnny DiMera’s (Carson Boatman) empathy for Ava Vitali (Tamara Braun).
Kristen is chagrined to realize that Li has disconnected Stefan from his respirator; she manages to resuscitate her brother. Li floats the idea of having Rolf brainwash Stefan into pursuing Chloe Lane (Nadia Bjorlin). Kristen gives it some thought… Alex strikes out with Gabi, and his offer to have Chanel and Allie join him for some extracurricular activities is politely declined.
Kate Roberts (Lauren Koslow) is thrown when Lucas Horton (Bryan Dattilo) declares his intention to plead guilty to kidnapping Sami Brady (Alison Sweeney). Roman Brady (Josh Taylor) is equally thrown when Kate later decides to plead guilty to aiding and abetting her son after the fact.
Milo Harp, alias Orpheus (George DelHoyo), arranges for some flowers to be delivered to Kayla Brady Johnson (Mary Beth Evans); Steven Johnson (Stephen Nichols) is incensed and must be talked out of his plan to permanently silence his enemy. Stephanie Johnson (Abigail Klein) slips back into Salem and her parents’ apartment; Steve greets her with her gun!
Sonny Kiriakis (Zach Tinker) takes Alex to task for his playboy ways… Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn) and Jada Hunter (Elia Cantu) find proof positive that Leo Stark (Greg Rikaart) was hiding in the secret tunnels that run beneath DiMera House. Leo swears that he isn’t Abgail Deveraux DiMera’s (Marci Miller) killer – but that he knows who is!
Leo points an accusatory finger in Gwen Rizczech’s (Emily O’Brien) direction. Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering) does a sweep of the villainess’ apartment and finds the Sarah Horton mask. Gwen is hauled downtown for questioning… Kayla dispenses words of wisdom to Chad… EJ learns that Ava arranged a not at all legal furlough for Gwen the night that Abigail was murdered.
Ava calls EJ’s bluff; he backs off but issues a warning. He’s perturbed to find her and Johnny in an intimate embrace. Gabi is equally perturbed to find Li and Rolf conversing; she remains unawares that the topic at hand is Stefan… Kristen threatens Chloe with a letter opener… Brady Black (Eric Martsolf) arranges a visit between Kristen and Rachel. Kristen makes a point of gifting their daughter a locket containing a picture of the three of them, “when they were a family.” The calculated move infuriates Brady.
