On today’s Days of our Lives, Chanel Dupree runs straight into the web that big, bad Colin spun.
In addition, Sloan (Jessica Serfaty) found herself arrested on several charges and EJ (Dan Feuerriegel) had quite the reaction to hearing of Stefan (Brandon Barash) and Gabi’s (Camila Banus) good news. Now, let’s dig a little deeper into what exactly happened.
Opposite Colin (Jasper Newman) forcing Paulina (Jackée Harry) out of the Sweet Bits kitchen and away from an unconscious Abe (James Reynolds), Talia (Aketra Sevillian) wrestled free of Chanel’s (Raven Bowens) embrace and declared that she couldn’t continue.
Chanel wondered if Talia was all right and Talia, in turn, copped to not being totally honest about her feelings. Chanel assumed that Talia was having second thoughts about being with a woman, but it was far worse than that.

“The only reason that I kissed you at Sweet Bits, and the only reason I asked you out, is because someone put me up to it,” confessed Talia.
A disbelieving Chanel demanded to know what exactly Talia meant and who this mystery puppet master was. Talia, in turn, admitted that it was her boyfriend — no, they hadn’t actually parted ways in New York — and that he was Nathan and Martha Bedford’s son — a son who was still traumatized by the fates that befell his parents, and a son who’d formulated a plan wherein Talia would seduce and destroy Chanel. But breaking Chanel’s heart wasn’t his only goal.
It suddenly dawned on Chanel that Colin was the one harassing her and her mother and that Talia had been his all too willing helper right from the jump. After excoriating Talia and then throwing her out, Chanel attempted to reach Paulina on the blower, only for Colin himself to answer and instruct Chanel to do exactly as he said.
At the Brady Pub, Rafe (Galen Gering) and Jada (Elia Cantu) delighted in informing Sloan that they’d rumbled Colin is the one harassing Paulina and Chanel and Rafe floated the possibility that Sloan had been working alongside her brother all along — a charge which Counselor Petersen strenuously objected to.
After Eric (Greg Vaughan) cautioned her to do herself a favor and tell the truth before anything worse happens, Sloan sat down and blubbered that “the person who has been committing these crimes against Paulina and Chanel…it is my brother. It’s Colin.”
When pressed, Sloan swore that she’d only known the truth since “yesterday” and did her utmost to explain Colin’s actions — he just wants to revenge himself on the people who took away their parents.
Rafe issued an APB, and Jada slapped some handcuffs on Sloan, the idea being that once Colin hears that she’s been arrested, he’ll turn himself in to save her…that and neither Rafe nor Jada believes that Sloan is an innocent party to all this drama.
Elsewhere, the DiMera mansion to be specific, Nicole (Arianne Zucker) privately groused to herself that that “stupid cow” Sloan had better keep her mouth shut about her [Nicole’s] pregnancy before popping a prenatal vitamin.
EJ happened by and queried what she’d just taken. Nicole waved it off as “just some medication that Kayla prescribed” and then engaged in a spirited, one-sided debate about society’s opinion on women in menopause.
Meanwhile, Stefan and Gabi celebrated her receiving signed divorce papers from Li (Remington Hoffman). After Gabi quipped that, with the stroke of a pen and the filing of the papers, she’d soon be a free woman, Stefan got down on one knee, presented a most beautiful ring, and asked Gabi to become his wife. She happily agreed, of course.
Later, the two sought out Nicole and EJ to share their good news [make that rub their good news in their enemies’ faces] and preen that they’d soon be running the family company together as Mr. and Mrs. DiMera.
The couple invited Nicole and EJ to toast their engagement, but Nicole refused to accept a glass of champagne — ostensibly because she didn’t “feel like celebrating your unholy union” — and EJ refused to cheer — though he did accept his and Nicole’s glasses of bubbly.
Once Stefan and Gabi took their leave of the “Debbie Downers,” EJ set about throwing quite the hissy fit, which culminated in him deciding to steal his brother’s thunder by making a proposal of his own. Nicole was less than impressed.
Having first drug Paulina back to his room at the Salem Inn (leaving behind Paulina’s scarf, which a returned and worried Talia found) and then up to the hotel’s roof, an armed Colin welcomed Chanel and then shared his evil endgame.
“You two bitches went to great lengths to make the world believe that my mum threw herself off the side of a building, and now, the story’s going to come full circle. Say goodbye to your mom, Chanel. She’s about to jump to her death.”
Back at Sweet Bits, a groggy Abe managed to get an SOS through to Rafe, who came running. In his addled state, all Abe could muster was a plea for the commissioner to save his wife.
