On today’s Days of our Lives, Brady Black finds himself a free man courtesy of his little sister. His partner-in-crime isn’t so lucky.
In addition, Gabi (Camila Banus) pulled a fast one on her hubby, and EJ (Dan Feuerriegel) and Nicole’s (Arianne Zucker) best-laid plan went to pot. Now, let’s dig a little deeper into what exactly happened.
An incredulous Belle (Martha Madison) had a lot to get off her chest and not a lot of time to do it. What, exactly, were Brady (Eric Martsolf) and Eric (Greg Vaughan) thinking? Assaulting Stefan (Brandon Barash) and torturing him?
Well, huffed Brady, I was thinking that I was saving Chloe (Nadia Bjorlin) from an obsessed, borderline stalker who was making her life a misery. Belle remembers Chloe, right? Her good friend, Chloe? Did she really want Chloe to be at Stefan’s mercy any longer? Brady did his ladylove a service — and Stefan too!

Uh-huh, groused Belle. And what was Eric’s excuse? Just helping out my bro, shrugged the former Father. But he was sorry…ish. No, no, he was sorry…justified, but sorry.
My, my, my, how the mighty have fallen, pondered Belle. Did it hurt? Hitting the ground after slipping off that high horse? That ticked off Eric, and he started to yell at his sister. As if Belle has any right to judge him. Also, she’s a crap lawyer who failed the bar not once, not twice, but thrice!
Opposite the family squabble, Sloan (Jessica Serfaty) tracked Melinda Trask (Tina Huang) to the cop shop and demanded that she throw the proverbial book at Eric…and a literal one if she had it on her person. This surprised Melinda greatly.
After all, she’d just finished reading Lady Whitstleblower’s debut column in which it was claimed that Eric was the best *ahem* lay of Sloan’s life. So, if Melinda were to ensure that Eric got “three hots and cot” who would be around to get Sloan’s cot hot?
Who indeed, an obviously rattled Sloan seemed to wonder. And note to herself: kill Leo (Greg Rikaart) at the first available opportunity. This indignity will not go unchallenged.
In the end, Belle made good on her plans to get Brady out of the slammer — and on a very reasonable bond — and see Eric remain behind bars. Brady thanked her most profusely; Eric didn’t.
It’s a new dawn, it’s a new day, and Li (Remington Hoffman) is feeling pretty good. In fact, he’s convinced himself that today marks the first day of the rest of his and Gabi’s happy life together. Now, to get Gabi well and truly on board.
His initial attempts were met with outright hostility. Him? Cook? Him? Speaking to Gabi in Spanish? Ugh!
And as for the romantic day that he planned for the two of them — a stop at Gabi’s most favorite duck pond, a picnic on a paddle boat, and an afternoon at the immersive, interactive Van Gogh Exhibit — HARD PASS!
Please, begged Li. He’s really, really trying here. Okay, okay, agreed Gabi. But Li mustn’t touch her. Or whisper sweet nothings in her ear. And no rocking the boat — literally! Oh, and no Spanish…or French…or pig Latin…or anything that will grate on her nerves or her ears. Agreed? Agreed!
PSYCHE! Gabi had no real intention of spending any time with Li. Instead, she dummied up an excuse to put the plans on hold and make time for a rendezvous with Stefan. Li quickly rumbled Gabi’s subterfuge and didn’t plan on thanking her for it.
With an important business meeting looming large, EJ decided that now would be the perfect time to put Operation: Give Stefan A Taste Of His Own Medicine into action, and Nicole concurred.
Stefan presented the pair with the perfect opportunity — a round of morning java, EJ’s cup dosed with the mystery drug — and the switch was made without incident. But though Stefan downed the beverage, an SOS from Gabi sent him packing before the effects could take hold, and the conference call initiated. The bright side? EJ redeemed himself in the eyes of the shareholders.
Elsewhere, the Horton Town Square to be specific, Shawn (Brandon Beemer) and Chloe got to talking. They both bemoaned Brady and Eric’s predicament, and Shawn made mention of Belle’s intent to let Eric rot. Talk inevitably turned to Stefan’s absent love feeling for Chloe, and the songstress swore that she was at peace with it all.
But what Chloe couldn’t reconcile was Brady’s dumping her on Kristen’s (Stacy Haiduk) orders rather than confiding in her the truth. And in what world could they possibly reunite with Rachel (Finley Rose Slater) so dead set against her?
Afterward, once Shawn had taken his leave, who should Chloe look up and see but Brady? Yeah, they had some unfinished business to attend to.
Back at the police station, having had a long hard think, Sloan decided that she and Eric needed to clear the air between them and get a few things straight. So, off to his cell she flew.
