The Devil is back on Days of our Lives, which makes it handy that so is Father Eric Brady. At the moment, however, Eric isn’t aware that his mortal enemy is holding his nephew hostage while possessing his niece.

Which is why Eric (Greg Vaughan) has time to chat with his mom — also currently not possessed by the Devil — about his ex-wife, Nicole Walker (Arianne Zucker). Eric claims they are living completely separate lives now. But is he telling the truth? Almost 2,000 fans weighed in on whether the good padre is actually in Salem to rekindle his lost love:

Eric can tell Marlena Brady Black (Deidre Hall) anything he wants. He might even believe it. But 41% of you know better. Damn skippy, Eric is back in Salem for Nicole. He’s just not as in tune with his own feelings…as you are.

Days of our Lives: Too Little, Too Late

Who cares what Eric is back for, 34% of the audience shrugs. Nicole is madly in love with Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering), and nothing is going to get in the way of that. Eric had a good thing going, and then he chose to go first to Africa, then back to the priesthood. Nicole moved on. So should he.

DOOL: Man of God

See that collar, 16% point their fingers in the vicinity of Eric’s neck. He’s a priest. A Catholic priest. Catholic priests are celibate. Nobody remains celibate around Nicole for long. Eric has clearly made his life choice.

Only 9% of voters are excited about the idea of a trip back to the Eric-Nicole well. Nicole couldn’t stay away from Eric when she was with Brady Black (Eric Martsolf), why should Rafe be any different. These two crazy kids were meant to be together. Emphasis on the word: Crazy.
