Steve Johnson missed a lot of years with Stephanie while she was growing up on Days of our Lives. It’s not his fault he was presumed dead. But now, he really wants to make up for that lost time – by being the best dad ever.

For 7% of you, Stephanie (Abigail Klein) can mess up her relationship all by herself. She knew she was moving in with a widower. One who had two kids with his late wife. If she didn’t expect Chad to still be attached to the late, lamented Abigail (Marci Miller), then that’s on her.

Days of our Lives: Enough Of That

For a slightly larger 10% of the audience, this is just a bump in the road. All soap couples need conflict. Heck, Chad and Abigail had not one but TWO Who’s the Daddy stories to overcome. Stephanie and Chad broke up, but they’ll find their way back to each other sooner or later. This is so not the end of the road.

On the other hand, some believe Chad doesn’t deserve Stephanie. As he explained to Kate (Lauren Koslow), he doesn’t want to get married. And, he now knows that Stephanie does. They have opposite goals for the future. Which is fine. Better do it now, before things have gone too far, especially for the children. This is a good thing. Thanks, Steve, 16% cheer.

Steve did ruin things for Stephanie and Chad, but he did them a favor, 67% of you agree. He forced them — to quote The Real World — to stop being polite and start being real. Neither one was willing to admit how they really felt before. But now they have, and both could go after what they really want.
