The late Abigail’s birthday was a prompt for her widower Chad DiMera, and Chad’s current girlfriend, Stephanie Johnson, to do some serious soul-searching on Days of our Lives. They live together, they work together, and they are raising Chad and Abigail’s children together. They swear that they love each other (but do they?). A quick visit to the couch proves how wrong they both are about that last one.
On The Couch: Stephanie Johnson & Chad DiMera
Stephanie (Abigail Klein) was into Alex (Robert Scott Wilson) enough to sleep with him. She even truly liked him…until Alex committed the ultimate sin of turning off Stephanie’s phone. This caused her to miss the call about her mother dying. Stephanie was furious with Alex and ended things right then and there. Stephanie said she had absolutely, positively no more feelings for Alex. How could she prove it? To him…To herself…
Oh, look! There’s Chad (Billy Flynn). Stephanie loves Chad! Do you hear that Alex? Stephanie loves Chad totes much! So no more asking her, OK?
DAYS: Child Care
Chad didn’t break up with Abigail (Marci Miler). She died. Chad was very sad. So sad that he couldn’t find the energy to take care of their kids, Thomas (Cary Christopher) and Charlotte (Autumn Gendron). Good thing cousin Stephanie was there to play with them. They took the kids ice skating. They took the kids to the park. Hey, look, they were already spending time together as a family – why don’t they become a real family? It sure would take some of that parenting burden off Chad.

Chad And Stephanie: DAYS Wasted
This story would be sadder if one person loved the other, but the other didn’t love them back. Luckily, our couch experts are here to announce that Stephanie doesn’t love Chad, and Chad doesn’t love Stephanie. They are both using each other to forget who they really love – dead or alive. Which is why a breakup will only hurt the children. But, since when does anybody think about the children in Salem?
