Handle With Care: Is Belle Managing Jan Right on Days of our Lives?

Ever since Jan Spears announced she was having Shawn Brady’s baby on Days of our Lives, Belle Black Brady has been walking a fine line between standing by her husband (who, technically, isn’t to blame for what happened), making sure Jan knows her place and dealing with her own bursts of anger at the situation.

Is Belle handling the situation correctly though? Subtle doesn’t seem to be her strong suit. Here’s what we heard from almost 4,000 fans.

DAYS: Half and Half

Jan deserves every ounce of Belle’s (Martha Madison) scorn, 58% of the audience agrees, but Shawn (Brandon Beemer) doesn’t. The goal here is to keep her marriage on track even as she maneuvers Jan out of the picture — while making sure her husband still has access to his child. Belle can read Jan for filth every day of the week, and you’d be there for it. But she needs to make sure Shawn understands she doesn’t blame him. And that she’s still a lot more pleasant to be with than the woman who raped him.

Days of our Lives The Right Way

Belle is completely right about Jan, 30% of you advise, and there is nothing wrong with her letting the bitch know where she stands. Jan got the devil to turn her into Belle so that Shawn would have sex with her — that’s how their child was conceived. We are way, way past the ‘handle with kid gloves’ stage.

DOOL Sympathetic Ear

Focus all that anger on Jan, Belle, a last-place 12% urge, and not on Shawn. Remember that he’s the victim and he’s having a tough time figuring out how to juggle an unhappy wife and a homicidal baby mama. Let Jan cause him turmoil, while you’re there to kiss the boo-boos and tell him he’s still a great guy. Not only is it the right thing to do, but it will help you hang onto your husband!
