It’s almost inconceivable that Eric Brady, former priest and beloved son of Roman and Marlena, now lives behind bars on “Days of Our Lives”.
Everything that led to Eric’s downfall seemed completely out of character, as he seemed to become an alcoholic off-screen in record time, resulting in getting behind the wheel drunk on New Year’s Eve. That act resulted in vehicular homicide when Dr. Dan (Shawn Christian) died and the rest is unsettling Salem history.
Soap Hub asked if you want Greg Vaughan back as Eric or if you think the character should languish in prison for the remainder of his sentence.
Out of nearly 5,500 votes, a whopping 91% of you are calling for Eric’s freedom and Vaughan’s return. You can’t imagine Salem without Eric, a legacy character we watched grow up before our eyes.

While you want him to atone for his sins, you also want to see Eric on screen as much as possible. Vaughan was one of your favorite leading men and you were heartbroken to see him go.
A much smaller 6% are just fine with Vaughan exit and you hope Eric serves out his sentence with dignity. Although he has a kind heart, he knew never to drive while drunk but did it anyway and you think he should pay.
The final 3% don’t even care. You can take Eric or leave him. You actually found him boring after a while and didn’t enjoy seeing him as a drunk. However, if he returned clean and sober it’s ok by you.
