Lucas Horton may have been cleared of Abigail Deveraux DiMera’s murder on Days of our Lives, but he is still on the hook for having Sami Brady kidnapped. Now that Lucas has decided to plead guilty, does he deserve to serve time behind bars?

Days of our Lives: If You Do the Crime…

Why is this even a question, 46% of you wonder. The man committed a crime. The man confessed to committing the crime. The man pleaded guilty to committing a crime. Anywhere else on the planet, this would suggest some sort of punishment is forthcoming, no? The fact that it’s a topic up for debate shows just how morally bankrupt Salem has truly become.

DOOL To Deserve You

Sure, he deserves it, 37% of the audience shrugs, but you still hope it doesn’t happen. Not that we’re blaming the victim, but Sami (Alison Sweeney) is hardly innocent of multiple crimes herself, and if she’s waltzing around free, why should Lucas (Bryan Dattilo) be the only family member who is forced to face the consequences of his actions?

Sure, his cousin Lani Price Grant (Sal Stowers) is currently separated from her husband and children due to a crime she committed, but that’s different. She’s a cop who broke the law. And absolutely no other factor had anything to do with her paying a stiffer penalty.

Days of our Lives Good Deed

Of course, then there are the 17% of fans who don’t think Lucas did anything wrong. Sami was making the wrong decision — considering forgiving her no-good, cheating husband, EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel) — and it was up to Lucas to be the big, strong man and save Sami from her bubble-brained blonde self. Lucas shouldn’t be punished, Lucas should get a medal! Most men wouldn’t be brave enough to risk their own safety just to show a woman the error of her ways!
