No one has ever accused the professionals on Days of our Lives of being good at…well, anything. When was the last time the Salem Police Department caught a criminal? Or a lawyer got their man? Or a doctor didn’t mix up test results? Or an executive executed…anything? But who is particularly awful?
Days of our Lives: Off With Her Head
Melinda Trask (Tina Huang) hasn’t won a case in years, 52% point out. But is that because she is bad at her job, or because, whenever she is good at her job, everyone in town goes out of their way to excoriate her for it. Her job is to put people in prison.
But, more often than not — at least in the cases we see on the air — those people have people who love them. And who do whatever they need to in order to get their loved ones off. Which leaves Melinda looking like a loser…and the bad guy.
DAYS: Exclusive Report
Gwen Rizczech’s (Emily O’Brien) idea of being a crack reporter is wandering around Horton Square, asking random people for comments on a case they have nothing to do with. Then, when Sloan Petersen (Jessica Serfaty) gave her a file exposing Chanel Dupree’s (Raven Bowens) crimes, Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn) convinced her not to publish it because she had no corroboration. She should publish what Chad — a PR flunkie being paid to spin the story — tells her. Also, with no corroboration. Which is why 26% of the audience thinks Gwen is just awful at her job.

A smaller 12% are pretty down on Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering). Has everyone in Salem solved a crime…except for him? Perhaps he should try working on that now that he doesn’t have to spend so much time with his wife.
DOOL: Showing Up
When was the last time EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel) went to the office, 10% of the voters wonder? We realize that working from home is the new normal, but how about just a token visit now and then? You know, to keep up morale.
