Once Tripp Johnson sacrificed himself and jumped out the stained glass window on Days of our Lives, all of Salem breathed a sigh of relief, believing that the Devil was finally gone for good.
But they’ve felt that way before. Lots of times. And they proved to be mistaken. Is this the end of the road for The Fallen Angel? What over 3,000 voters believe:
Yup, a majority 42% are waving bye-bye to The Prince of Darkness. From now on, it will only be regular old evil in Salem. You know, the kind that implants microchips into people to alter their personalities, brings victims back from the dead, dons masks that change your face, voice, height, eye color, and litters. Normal, run-of-the-mill stuff.
It’s been a quarter of a century since the Devil’s last rampage through Salem, then primarily in the guise of a possessed Dr. Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall). And 37% of the audience is hoping it will be at least that long before we get another return visit. By that point, Henry Horton and Bo Weston will be grandfathers, and they can tackle the evil that, once again, stalks their families.
Remember when the Bradys and Blacks thought they’d gotten the Devil out of Marlena over Christmas? He was back in no time. And that’s what 21% of fans expect to happen again now.
He’ll take a little break, let Angel Bo Brady (Peter Reckell) sprinkle some Godly pixie dust over dead Tripp (Lucas Adams), and then it will be back to havoc as usual. This time, we suspect the Devil will possess a character who you won’t be able to tell has gone over to the dark side. We suggest…Ava Vitale (Tamra Braun)…or Gwen Rizczech (Emily O’Brien).
