It was a sad day on Days of our Lives when first Kate Roberts, then Kayla Brady Johnson, then, finally, Marlena Evans Black shuffled off their mortal Salem coil.
Days of our Lives Polling
Tears were shed, teeth were gnashed, and fingers were pointed. But are these three women really, most sincerely dead? This is what longtime viewers had to say about that:
DAYS: Death, Not Be Proud
A whopping 2% of you are convinced that this is truly the end of the road. Goodbye, Kate (Lauren Koslow), farewell, Kayla (Mary Beth Evans), so long, Marlena (Deidre Hall). This plot twist will open the door to so much great story for Roman Brady (Josh Taylor), Steve Johnson (Stephen Nichols), and John Black (Drake Hogestyn). We can’t wait!
Days of our Lives: Two Out of Three Ain’t Bad
Kate is a goner, 12% have decided. Roman doesn’t deserve happiness. But John and Steve do. Their women will be back, sooner rather than later. After all, both those couples have beaten death before. Multiple times. They’ve proven to the universe that one can’t live without the other. (Ignore the love interests they hooked up with while the other was presumed gone.) And the universe always gives good people what they want.
DOOL: Are You New Here?
Have you dropped by Salem before, 86% of fans are wondering. Nobody dies here. Nobody. We’ve got Dr. Rolf. Everybody – well, everybody of anyone who really matters – is automatically forwarded to him for the abracadabra magic rejuvenation treatment. It’s just basic procedure. Marlena will be back, Kayla will be back, and even Kate will be back.
After all, the latter has to deal with her son, Phillip Kiriakis (Jay Kenneth Johnson) returning to Salem. Kayla has to listen to daughter Stephanie Johnson (Abigail Klein) sob about The Bastard Who Turned Off Her Phone Before Having Sex. And Marlena has…strawberries and cream to munch with John. Oh, and, according to Gabi Hernandez (Camilla Banus), fix Stefan O. DiMera’s (Brandon Barash) fried brain, too.
