Now that he’s no longer possessed by the Devil on Days of our Lives — even if he’s still wearing that bright red suit — Johnny DiMera has his whole life in front of him. But what exactly should he focus on?
Remember when Johnny (Carson Boatman) was so determined to be a successful film director that he was willing to upset his dad — and walk away from all that lovely DiMera money?
Why doesn’t he go back to that, 57% of you suggest. He can work on getting another movie produced — bet the whole Marlena Evans Black (Deidre Hall) possessed by the Devil tale doesn’t feel nearly as fun to work on now — and he can leave Chanel Dupree (Raven Bowens) alone long enough for her to actually start missing him.
Wrong, wrong, wrong, 37% of the audience counters. Chanel loved it when Johnny swept her off to Italy for a grand romantic tour. He should do something like that again. Chanel is obviously a “what have you done for me lately” kind of girl. He needs to become the guy she fell in love with before…so that she’ll fall in love with him again.
Chanel is just another girl in Johnny’s long line of conquests. The only reason he even wants her is that she doesn’t seem to want him anymore. Johnny is much better off cutting her loose, not just for his peace of mind, but so that he can keep peace with Allie Horton (Lindsay Arnold).
They’re twins, and they’re going to have to be in each other’s lives long after both of them are asking, “Chanel who?” This is about family, 6% of voters insist, and Johnny should be the first to let go. Allie will follow suit sooner or later.
