Past Due: Should Lucas Pay For Kidnapping Sami on Days of our Lives?

Days of our Lives viewers waited for weeks, first for Sami Brady DiMera to be found, and then to find out who had her kidnapped in the first place. Bets were placed on Kristen DiMera – she loves to kidnap, EJ DiMera – he was furious that Sami cheated on him, even Ava Vitali – she was furious for what Sami did to her BFF Nicole Walker. Lucas Horton was, at best, a dark horse candidate.

It turned out to be Lucas (Bryan Dattilo). Fans are shocked. But also kind of sympathetic. Which is why they’re split on whether or not Sami’s ex-husband should be punished for his crime.

DOOL: Get What You Deserve

Yeah, yeah, yeah, 41% of you shrug, sure, Lucas SHOULD be punished. But you’re kind of hoping he won’t be. He is such a doofus. He screws up everything. This was just another in his long line of pathetic failures. Hasn’t he suffered enough just living with himself?

Good Days of our Lives Deeds

Lucas did the right thing, 35% of the audience counters. He was trying to protect Sami (Alison Sweeney) not just from EJ, but from herself. She doesn’t know how to make good decisions for herself. Just look at everything she’s chosen to do up to this point. Lucas should get a medal, not a prison term!

DAYS: May Contain Nuts

Lucas is out of his mind, 24% of fans sigh. Did he really think this would work? Did he really think he would get away with this? How long did he plan to keep Sami locked up? Was he giving her monthly blood tests to see if she’d gotten EJ out of her system? What was his endgame? Lucas deserves to be punished…if only for his stupidity. Oh, and the crime thing. Also for the crime thing.
