It’s been a hot minute since we’ve seen Billie Reed on Days of Our Lives. While her last appearance on the mothership show was in 2018, she also showed up on the spin-off limited series, Days of Our Lives: Beyond Salem. She’s been keeping busy moving up and down the TV dial, appearing in many shows like American Horror Stories in 2023. Now, she’s got an intriguing new project she’s working on.
It’s a Shoe-in
Rinna, who recently started a podcast with her husband, actor Harry Hamlin, has a new production in the works. According to Deadline, her production company, called Mr. Productions, Inc., is creating its first scripted project: an adaptation of A Shoe Story, a novel by Jane L. Rosen. This will be the first book for which she’s secured the rights.
Author Rosen was excited that Rinna optioned her book, stating, “Her energy, creativity, and bold spirit are a perfect match for this project, and I can’t wait to see where she takes it.” The story concerns Esme Nash, who goes back to New York City to take care of a friend’s dog. There, she finds a closet filled with amazing shoes and uses them to undergo a journey of transformation, new beginnings, and healing.

The Perfect Pair
Rinna explained that she recalled being a girl in a small town with dreams of going to the big city and seeking her fortune. “A Shoe Story captures the magic of that self-discovery journey with a bit of magical sparkle, a lot of heart, and a ton of fabulous fashion,” she stated, adding, “It fit me like a perfect pair of shoes.”

The team-up of Rinna and Rosen is perfect, as Rinna is also an author as well as an entrepreneur. Rosen has written six books and worked as a newspaper columnist and a screenwriter. It hasn’t been announced yet whether she’ll adapt her own book for Rinna’s production, but the two working together is like a match made in Heaven.
