In the Wednesday, March 5 episode of Days of Our Lives, Marlena’s family started to learn the concerning news about John’s disappearance. Elsewhere, Philip and Alex made hiring decisions, and Ava understandably delivered the only justice she could when she came face-to-face with Kristen. Plus, Stephanie had to keep a lid on her new discovery.

The Kiriakis Bros Shore Up Their Ranks

Titan has two more employees, Alex (Robert Scott Wilson) and Joy (AlexAnn Hopkins). Obviously, this is an awkward arrangement, considering the two used to see each other. There’s the matter of Joy potentially having Alex’s baby. She knows it. Stephanie (Abigail Klein) now knows it. Joy has no idea that Stephanie knows it. And Alex is completely clueless, once again.

The hirings happened pretty quickly and smoothly. Guess we should start normalizing Xander (Paul Telfer) and Philip (John-Paul Lavoisier) getting along and working business issues out simply by good communication. It was surprising how Philip and Xander didn’t make unilateral decisions. Instead, they knew they had to consult the other before signing off. We are loving Philip and Xander being co-CEOs and dread the day the whole forged letter catastrophe gets outed.

How much drama will follow Joy and Alex to Titan? And will Stephanie be able to handle the two working together?

Ava Shuts Kristen Up But Good

Ava (Tamara Braun) had to break the bad news to Belle (Martha Madison). She’s not pressing charges, so Belle’s dreams of sending Kristen (Stacy Haiduk) and EJ (Dan Feuerriegel) to jail aren’t going to happen anytime soon. Ava wasn’t happy about it but explained the Child Protective Service angle of this debacle.

When Kristen arrived at The Pub, she acted like Kristen. This should have been the one time she broke out her fake sensitive side and showed her appreciation. But, no, she decided to act entitled, hateful, and malicious with both Belle and Ava.

So, after Kristen ensured Belle got back to work on releasing her cray-cray mother, Ava stood up to Kristen. And even though she knew she couldn’t press charges, she did the next best thing. She slapped the you-know-what out of her rival. It was the least that Kristen deserved. This was, what, the 100 millionth crime she’s gotten away with over the years?

When Ava and Brady (Eric Martsolf) talked, it was good that she showed her bitterness over what went down and didn’t quite let him off the hook. Sure, he didn’t have anything to do with the kidnapping, but it’s because of him she’s no longer pressing charges.

What did you think of the Titan employee expansion? How about Ava’s slap heard around the world? And finally, what do you think about Marlena (Deidre Hall) telling Brady and Belle about John (the late Drake Hogestyn)? Let us know in the comments.
