Is Sloan Going to Chicken Out on DAYS?

Sloan filled Melinda in on Leo’s actions, then started to second-guess her decisions on the Wednesday, May 8 episode of Days of Our Lives. Meanwhile, E.J. taps a questionable acquaintance for help.

Will E.J. Make a Crazy Decision?

The episode opened with E.J. (Daniel Feuerriegel) on the phone with none other than Dr. Rolf (Richard Wharton), demanding he expedite baby Jude’s DNA test. Apparently, Nicole (Arianne Zucker) gave E.J. the baby swab and Eric’s (Greg Vaughan) toothbrush off-screen. Then Johnny (Carson Boatman) entered and told him about Chanel’s (Raven Bowens) pregnancy and the danger posed by her exposure to Paulina’s (Jackée Harry) radiation. The young man asked if his dad could hook them up with the best medical experts in the world as he did for Holly (Ashley Puzemis).

If E.J. is in contact with Dr. Rolf, it’s highly plausible that down the road, he may have to call in the mad scientist to help with his grandson if things start to go sideways healthwise for the child. He had urged Johnny to convince Chanel to terminate the pregnancy, but at this stage, they were weighing all their options.

Could Dr. Rolf’s expertise truly help Johnny and Chanel? Only time will tell, assuming he’s even contacted about it. Odds are, the show won’t go in that direction and will probably play out the drama of a sick and/or dying baby. 

How Long Can Sloan Keep the Baby Switch Secret?

Unhappy that Eric was going off to work with Nicole, Sloan (Jessica Serfaty) called Melinda (Tina Huang) over and told her how a heartbroken Leo (Greg Rikaart) got drunk and blabbed the baby swap secret to E.J. She mentioned that when she divulged the fact that Eric is Jude’s bio-dad, a switch seemed to flip in E.J.’s mind, and he agreed to keep the secret with her. 

Melinda hoped that Sloan’s persuasive argument worked better with E.J. than it did with Leo. Sloan remarked that the truth seemed to always be on the verge of coming out and wondered how long they could keep it a secret. (How long, indeed?)

Feeling rather forlorn, Sloan told Melinda that Eric was working with Nicole and he was always going to love her. She then wondered if everything she did for the family was worth it. Translation: Sloan is perhaps contemplating just letting the secret blow wide open. While her initial argument to E.J. was that they’d lose their spouses, feeling that Eric and Nicole are getting closer could easily justify Sloan revealing the truth if she knows he’s gonna bail on her.

But Sloan’s the type to have a scorched Earth policy when needed, so she’s not going to give away anything unless she can take someone else down with her. She already promised Melinda she’d protect her, so the only other recourse would perhaps be if she learned that E.J. knew about the drugs that affected Holly, which would destroy him and Nicole if the baby switch secret didn’t.
