Ever since Body & Soul was sold back to the network on Days of Our Lives, Alex has been trying to figure out what to do. His one saving grace was that he and Stephanie reunited. However, that almost turned into a fiasco when they thought Joy was pregnant with Alex’s baby. She told them she wasn’t, but wait…it turns out she lied! As that unfolds, Alex’s real-world alter ego, Robert Scott Wilson, opens up about what Alex was going through when he thought he was going to be a dad.

It Was More Than a Bad Dream

At the hospital, Stephanie (Abigail Klein) accidentally overheard Sarah (Linsey Godfrey) ordering a pregnancy test for Joy (AlexAnn Hopkins), and alarms went off in her head. Before telling Alex, she had a conversation with Joy, who okayed the move. Shortly after Steph broke the news to her on-again beau, Joy arrived with the joyful news that she wasn’t pregnant after all, despite the piece of paper she kept hidden that said she was.

Soap Opera Digest talked with Wilson about Alex’s drama. He underscored that “It was a nightmare for Alex. A nightmare.” But he was happy that Steph kept her cool throughout the ordeal. “It made it a little easier for Alex,” he explained, adding, “and he and Stephanie really teamed up to figure things out together.”

It All Worked Out (For Now)

During their first go-round, Alex screwed up big time when he shut off Steph’s phone, causing her to miss a call that her mother, Kayla, was about to die. (Thankfully, Kayla came back from the dead.) But she ultimately forgave him, and in Alex and Steph 2.0, Wilson remarked that she grounds Alex.“She makes him a better man despite these very dramatic situations. She’s always been in his corner, which is really, really great.”

Wilson explained that when they thought Joy was pregnant the future was suddenly uncertain, ““Because things were just starting to kick off with Stephanie again. That’s where Alex’s heart really rose, and Stephanie is kind of Alex’s one true pairing.” However, Wilson looked at the anxiety that the story brought as a good thing, adding a fun, dramatic flavor to everything. He also noted that the fans liked the Alex/Joy pairing and that Alex really didn’t mean to hurt Joy by leaving her for Steph.

We shall see how this new baby drama unfolds with bated breath!
