Peyton Meyer Joins Hallmark

It’s official. According to a report from Entertainment Now, Meyer has been cast in Hallmark’s new film, Kentucky Roses, along with co-stars Odette Annable, Brynn Thayer, Gregg Henry, and Ally Ledford.

No other details of Meyer’s new role have been revealed at this time. According to another report from WDRB, Churchill Downs is teaming up with Hallmark on this project, which was filmed at the iconic home of the Kentucky Derby.

The romantic film is about a woman named Sadie Moore (Annable), who works at the Churchill Downs greenhouse. But she wants to become a florist who creates the iconic roses that cover the winning Derby horse, just like her grandmother (Ledford) used to do.

Around the Kentucky Derby, Sadie meets Ash Taylor (Walker), who she finds out is the son of Churchill Downs’ CEO (Henry). Of course, the two fall in love. But their relationship gets tested by their respective families. The Hallmark family will explain the legacies between their two families as they shift the timeline from the present day to the 1932 Kentucky Derby.

First Post-DAYS Project

Meyer’s acting career started in 2013 when he starred on the Disney Channel series Dog with a Blog as Wes Manning. He also had a role in the popular series Girl Meets World, where he played Lucas Friar. (Learn about Meyer’s magical connection to former DAYS co-star Marissa Reyes).

Meyer also appeared on American Housewife, He’s All That, and Versus. The actor later portrayed Doug Williams III on DAYS for about eight months. He made his debut on December 3, 2024, and exited the soap on July 25, 2025.

Meyer appeared on DAYS as part of the tribute to Doug Williams and the late Bill Hayes. Soap fans also learned that Doug III served time in prison before he arrived in Salem, which was a throwback to the original Doug’s storyline.

Then there was a plot twist revealing that he lied to Julie (Susan Seaforth Hayes): he was the thief who stole Alice Horton’s (the late Frances Reid) necklace to pay off a debt.

Kentucky Roses will premiere on the Hallmark Channel on Kentucky Derby Day on Saturday, May 2. It will also be available to stream the following day on Hallmark Plus.
