Patrika Darbo’s recent return to Days of Our Lives had fans cheering for her return, which was all too brief. Her character, Nancy, had mainly returned to introduce her daughter Joy, played by AlexAnn Hopkins. Feeling her daughter was good because she landed a gig on the soap-within-a-soap Body & Soul, Nancy left. But that doesn’t mean Darbo doesn’t have anything to do. She recently shared a mysterious yet hilarious-sounding new project coming up on social media.
Living the High Life
Darbo shared a photo of her and General Hospital’s Adam Huss (Nikolas) on Instagram, captioning it, “So grateful to be asked to participate in the reading of the pilot script of 2 Stoned Old Ladies with so many talented performers. Thank you, too, Hennessey Studios. What a great facility. And look who was one of those fabulous performers, Adam Huss, can you say hunky!!!! And the wonderful Kate Linder as my co-star. Thank you Dorenda for asking me to participate.”
Behind the two in the pic was a logo for Two Stoned Old Ladies, with a list of the actors below it. Founded by entrepreneur Jason Hennessey, Hennessey Studios is a place for “filmmakers, videographers, podcasters, and storytellers to create exceptional content,” according to its website. One fan remarked, “Sounds perfect for you and Kate.”
Fans Are Lit Over This New Project
Linder, of course, plays The Young and the Restless’ beloved Esther Valentine. In a separate post, Darbo shared a photo of the entire group involved, which included Huss and Linder. One fan complimented the team, stating, “You guys look great! 🙌,” while another eager follower replied, “I can’t wait to watch ❤️.”
Darbo’s been on other soaps, including playing Shirley Spectra on both Y&R and The Bold and the Beautiful, and she’s made many friends in the soap world. As we await further word on whether her new project will go into production and where we’ll be able to see it, we can enjoy her in other projects for now. In May, she shared a pic of her and GH’s Parry Shen (Brad), writing, “So great seeing Parry at the ALS Soap event. We did Hatchet together…he survived…I was killed.” (Find out who Darbo’s kept in touch with over the years.)
