Despite Brady and Kristen’s volatile relationship on Days of Our Lives, she recently came through for him by getting rid of his car—the one that hit Sarah, paralyzing her. Eric Martsolf spoke about the strange dynamic between Brady and Kristen and why she does what she does.

Who Loves Ya, Baby

DAYS’ Martsolf (Brady) sat down with Soap Opera Digest to give his take on Kristen’s motivations. He explained that at the heart of everything, Kristen (Stacey Haiduk) still loves Brady. She protects him despite their volatile relationship. “Everything she’s done was always for the benefit of Brady. She was always trying to protect him. Most of what she’s done has been out of love,” he said.

They have constantly battled over their daughter, Rachel (Finley Rose Slater), and can never agree on custody terms. Yet, Kristen’s quick thinking saved Brady from a jail sentence, even though he was framed for hitting Sarah (Linsey Godfrey). He stated that the two need to figure out how to navigate raising their child and push back their animosity. “They almost can’t help but care for one another, especially in dire times,” he said, adding, “It’s the day-to-day that they need to get better.”

The Hot Water Still Boils for Brady

Martsolf pointed out that even though Kristen is always battling Brady and plotting and scheming to get her way, her immediate thought, when she realized he was in an accident, was to protect him. He considered her decision to eradicate Brady’s car a “bold” move. Plus, he noted that Kristen’s constant plotting was exactly what Brady needed.

District attorney EJ (Daniel Feuerriegel) is gunning for Brady, looking for any shred of evidence that will convict him for the hit-and-run. It’s unclear how long Fiona (Serena Scott Thomas) can keep secret the fact that she was the one who hit Sarah, but until it’s revealed, Brady has an uphill battle. (Find out how Fiona may become incredibly unhinged.)
