Because she talks to herself, Connie explained why she killed Li on the July 12 episode of Days of Our Lives. Plus, Bobby hoodwinked Jada and Marlena to get out of the Bayview Sanitarium as part of his nefarious deal with the unhinged woman.

Connie Reveals All

Fans got to see a lot more of Remington Hoffman’s Li Shin, as crackpot Connie (Julie Dove) spoke to him in her mind throughout the episode. She laid out her deranged rationale for killing him, and we got to see the full flashback of not only how she showed up at his apartment, catching him off guard, but also how she stabbed him in the back, literally. He claimed he was having a bad day because of Gabi and Melinda (Tina Huang), and Connie convinced herself that they were the reason Li had to die, not taking one ounce of onus herself.

We also saw Gil (David S. Lee) again via Connie’s flashbacks. After murdering Li, she heard Gil coming in, so she hid and watched as he checked the body, realized Li was still alive, and high-tailed it out of there so he wouldn’t be associated with the crime. Connie had called Gabi on Li’s phone to frame her for killing Li. It was truly disturbing to watch her not only make herself at home in Li’s old apartment but also cook up breakfast for herself and the figment of her imagination. And just when you thought she couldn’t get any nuttier, Connie shockingly took things one step further…

Bobby is Freed

Jada (Elia Cantu) returned to Bayview to find out what Bobby (Blake Berris) knew about Li’s murder. After putting on a show where his alternate personality seemed to emerge, Bobby convinced Marlena that Everett was in control and to have him released.

We saw that coming a mile away, as he recalled the deal he made with Connie: if he doesn’t rat her out for Li’s murder, she’ll take care of Rafe (Galen Gerring) so that he’ll have a clear path to Jada. Pretending to free Everett was a stroke of genius because he wouldn’t know anything that Bobby had done or overheard, and Bobby could easily fake that. The episode ended with a horrific shock as Rafe was at the cemetery on the phone with Paulina (Jackée Harry), explaining that the investigation into Abigail’s (Marci Miller) grave was completed and the hole needed to be filled back in.

Ironically, he laughed, saying, “Yeah, an open grave can definitely be dangerous.” Just then, killer Connie snuck up behind him, stabbing him in the back. Now, there’s a lot that could happen here.

First off, it may turn out that the scenario was all in Connie’s head, but that’s the least likely explanation. Second, she yelled before stabbing him, and he wasn’t done with his phone call. Odds are that Paulina not only heard the yell but also heard Rafe scream out in pain.

If the show follows through with that, the police will know they’re looking for a woman but may not connect it to Li’s death, although the modus operandi was the same. They’ll probably think it’s someone in Clyde’s (James Read) gang because the stabbing occurred near Abby’s grave. No matter how you slice it, the Keystone…er…Salem cops will have a major mystery on their hands. (Find out why the entire Salem PD needs to be fired.)
