While Paulina (Jackée Harry) stirred some trouble from her hospital escape , everyone understood why she did it. Meanwhile, Ava (Tamara Braun) failed to retrieve Clyde’s (James Read) book and had a run-in with Kayla (Mary Beth Evans). Kate (Lauren Koslow) also berated Harris (Steve Burton) for not finding Clyde, and Stefan (Brandon Barash) couldn’t stop thinking about his tryst with Ava .
Paulina’s radiation levels were still at a level that require isolation, and Kayla and Abe still scolded her for escaping from the hospital and endangering people. They understood why she did it, and Abe admitted to being more worried than angry. Although Chanel’s radiation levels were higher than Johnny’s, the two got the all-clear to leave the hospital. Her ankle was sprained, not broken, so Johnny took her to a hotel room and carried her over the threshold. He then serenaded her with yet another badly dubbed song. At the pub, Roman updated Sami about Johnny and Chanel’s status. Kate arrived and told him while Lucas is still at the monastery, she’s concerned that Clyde is on the loose and could still menace him. She left to find Harris to get answers. Harris kept watch outside the Bistro while Ava entered to find Clyde’s book. She encountered Stefan, and lied about why she was there. She ultimately had to hand over her keys, while Stefan fondly thought about their brief dalliance between the sheets. Kate encountered Harris and read him the riot act for seemingly avoiding her. He stated he was still looking for Clyde, and she told him to speed things up so Lucas can be freed. Kayla dumped her bad day woes on Roman, admitting she was upset over Paulina endangering people. She mentioned Stephanie’s broken heart and he said he’d always be there for her. Ava told Harris about her encounter with Stefan and that he took her keys. Stefan showed up, and Harris theorized that he blackmailed EJ to get out of prison. Stefan profusely apologized for shooting Harris, was glad he didn’t die, and wished he could go back and change things. Ava bumped into Kayla who admonished her for almost getting Tripp killed. Ava explained that she tried to get him to move to China with Wendy, but Kayla argued that if she hadn’t gotten involved with Clyde, there would be no worries, and also blabbed that she knew Steve helped break the villain out of prison. Roman intervened and refused to give Ava the key to Harris’ room. He told her she wasn’t part of Harris’ lease, and he gets to call the shots on who stays in his rooms, with Ava being most certainly unwelcome.
