Is it really over for Xander and Sarah on Days of Our Lives? After their colossal fight, she threw him out and told him in no uncertain terms that Victoria would be staying with her. Sarah believes that keeping Philip’s secret was what the late Victor would have wanted so that the brothers Kiriakis could work together. But now, their house of cards has come tumbling down, and it might be splitsville for real. Paul Telfer opened up about Xander and Sarah’s powder keg confrontation.
It Just Wasn’t on His Radar
Telfer had a chance to speak with Soap Opera Digest about the latest conflict between Xander and Sarah (Linsey Godfrey). The actress had recently shared her optimistic hopes for the couple’s future, and now it’s Telfer’s turn to give his two cents. “There was just no part of Xander that was putting Sarah in the frame of the lie and the fraud and all that,” he stated.
He felt that all the signs were there of Sarah lying, which goes against her personality, and because he couldn’t conceive of it, he didn’t notice. “It just wasn’t on his radar remotely until it was,” he explained. Liking their conversation to a bomb going off, he stated that Xander has been unaware of her deceit for the better part of a year.

Very Heartbreaking
The actor discussed Xander and Sarah’s past when she felt he was so dangerous that she didn’t want him to know she was pregnant with his child. Eventually, the two realized they were meant to be together, and despite the fact that he had tried to kill Brady (Eric Martsolf) and Philip (John-Paul Lavoisier) before, she accepted him. She even wanted to change him.

By keeping the secret of Philip’s forged letter, “Sarah thought that she knew enough to be able to wrangle Xander with falsehoods to control his behavior just a little bit and protect everyone.” As their relationship starts to crumble, Telfer noted that it was “super heart-wrenching.”
