EJ has certainly managed to make several enemies on Days of Our Lives, and now his son Johnny has been added to that list. Johnny learned the story of his conception, which utterly decimated his and his dad’s relationship. It’s going to take the young DiMera some time to overcome the trauma of the reveal. Meanwhile, EJ’s not happy with those who told Johnny the truth. His portrayer, Dan Feuerriegel, has some things to say about whether EJ will bring the tattlers down with him.
The Seat of His Pants
An enraged EJ had a hard time rationalizing his rape of Sami (Alison Sweeney) to Johnny (Carson Boatman), feeling awful about his horrendous actions. Johnny confronted his dad, catching EJ off guard, and he learned that Roman (Josh Taylor) was the one who accidentally let it slip and then backpedaled. But his wife Kate (Lauren Koslow) took the reigns and filled Johnny in on the truth, and EJ was furious. In fact, he threatened to pay her back in kind.
Feuerriegel told Soap Opera Digest, “For the most part, I think EJ is flying by the seat of his pants,” meaning that he’s making up his next moves as he goes. He felt that while EJ hasn’t figured out how to right things with Johnny, he can get retribution elsewhere. The actor admitted, “At this point, there’s really nothing that he can do or say except to go and attack the people that told Johnny [this secret] and maybe prevent something more from getting out.”

He Took Responsibility for His Actions
While EJ seeks revenge on anyone involved, Feuerriegel noted that his character took responsibility for his reprehensible actions and accepted Johnny’s wrath. Since mending fences with his boy may be an uphill battle, the actor explained EJ’s attitude toward those who told Johnny the secret. “Well, if you are going to do that to EJ, then he’s going to do the same back to you.”

EJ felt that it was not Kate’s secret to tell, especially given Johnny’s explosive reaction of running into Chez DiMera and socking his old man in the face. Feuerriegel explained EJ’s thoughts regarding how to fix things: “All right, well, if I’m the one that’s going to take [the fall], then I’m going to go around to all the other people who played a role in this, too.”
