On Days of Our Lives, Jackée Harry’s mayor, Paulina Price, often deals with the younger generation, like Chanel and Johnny. While the couple has certainly had their issues, Paulina is always around to be a sounding board or a guiding force. Harry recently opened up about how these younger actors have influenced her.
She Appreciates Their Influence
In an interview with Soap Opera Digest, Harry noted that she hangs out with Carson Boatman (Johnny) and Raven Bowens (Chanel) in real life. She is grateful for the influence that the younger generation has on her, stating, “They’re easy about it.” She explained that the actors keep her abreast of the goings on in their lives, referencing the fact that Boatman recently became a father. “They keep me up to date on their lives.”
She also went to a play that Bowens was in, gushing, “That was exciting. I saw her on stage, and she was fabulous.” She also said that Bowens took her to the opera, which was a little difficult to get through because it was four hours long. She noted that while sometimes one has to fake enjoying themselves with other people, it’s different with Boatman and Bowens. “I enjoy these young people immensely. I really like them, and it’s not fake,” she remarked.

She Learned ‘How to Cause It’
According to the outlet, Harry learned the phrase ‘how to cause it’ from the two young actors. What it means is to find a way of doing something that will elicit a desired result. Harry used the example of wearing something provocative that would garner a response from people. “When you cause it, you walk into a room, and everybody reacts. I mean, you know swag and all that,” she said.

She further noted that she’s always learning something from the young performers, such as lyrics to modern songs, and explained, “It’s all new to me, but they’re inundating me with all kinds of things and making me feel welcome, which warms my heart. I never used to feel that way.” She also remarked that while she would have preferred to go with Bowens to a dive bar instead of the opera, singer/songwriter Boatman “Likes little honky-tonk bars where they play country [music]. Who knew?”
