That rapscallion Rachel has done it again on Days of Our Lives. After getting bagged for sending Ava threatening text messages and being told she was going to need therapy, the little girl packed up her stuffed snake and other items and headed for the hills. Her parents, Kristen and Brady, are beside themselves, trying to find her. This is causing incredible tension that could end up rekindling the passion the two have for each other.
Drama Brings Lovers Together
Brady’s portrayer, Eric Martsolf, told Soap Opera Digest that he thrives on playing various kinds of family drama and that many of Brady’s past actions stem from his love for his family. By the same token, he noted that soap operas often have intense stories like fires and explosions because they bring couples together who may not be in each other’s orbits or were even estranged.
The topic then turned to runaway Rachel (Finley Rose Slater), and Martsolf praised the character. “She’s a smart cookie. She might be the smartest person in Salem at this point.” He feels she’s so intelligent because she knows that her parents are going to have to work together to find her, and like the disasters he referenced, they might end up rekindling their romance.

Their Conflict Has Affected Rachel
“There is anger and frustration between Brady and Kristen (Stacey Haiduk). It inevitably pulls them together because Rachel is the one thing that they have in common,” Martsolf remarked. We’ve already seen this in action when Kristen again disparaged Ava (Tamara Braun), and Brady corrected her. He explained that Ava was not to blame for Rachel’s absconding. Kristen had no choice but to agree.

To say that the relationship between Kristen and Brady over the years has been contentious would be an understatement. While Brady’s attempt to start dating Ava was the catalyst for Rachel’s outbursts. At the end of the day, their eternal conflict with each other has negatively affected her. “They can be as erratic as they want as adults and as lovers, but they are parents at the end of the day that love their daughter,” he stated. Hopefully, they’ll work together better once she’s found.
