Xander, Philip, and Alex are mere inches closer to having Titan attempt a takeover of DiMera Enterprises on Days of Our Lives. The company was already in disarray, and the shooting of EJ may have made it even more vulnerable as it added to the chaos. While the three titans of industry plan their attack, with fingers crossed that a secret won’t come out to jeopardize their plan, Alex’s portrayer, Robert Scott Wilson, opened up about the business and the humor on the show.

It Doesn’t Always Have to Be Serious

Wilson spoke with Soap Opera Digest about the latest storyline and noted that “Some of my favorite stuff is the business stuff.” He enjoys the dynamic of a family involved in high-stakes business, which reminds him of a show he loves, Succession, which has inspired him.

The actor explained that beyond the family/business drama, he searches for humor in scenes. “I think we all try to make sure we find that,” he stated. “But also stay strong as leads in a drama.” Certainly, the show is chock full of hilarious moments that break up the drama, and it’s always fun to see Alex not have to be so serious once in a while.

Humor Is Key

“We always look for the humor,” he said, noting that the stories don’t always have to be so serious with angry characters. He explained that he’s been keeping track of when scenes head into a break and when they return, noting that in between, the actors find time to clown around.

“There’s so much we laugh and crack up about all the time. It keeps everything fresh and colorful,” he enthusiastically explained. Those moments between the scenes can be “hilarious” when the cameras are off. “And it’s important to have that,” he said. “Even moving as fast as we are [through a day of production].”
